  • Patent number: 4546340
Abstract: An electrical coil assembly includes a bobbin having a pair of generally parallel end plates with a pair of terminals inserted into holes in an edge of one of the end plates. Magnet wire is wrapped around one of the terminals and then wound around the bobbin, with the finish end of the magnet wire being wrapped around the other terminal. A layer of protective insulated tape is applied over the surface of the wound coil and the terminals are dip soldered to the magnet wire. Formed integrally with the bobbin is an upstanding wall mounted on one of the end plates and having a lead wire receiving slot formed therein. A cover member is formed on the other end plate and is connected thereto by a living hinge. Lead wires are soldered to the terminals and inserted in the slot. The cover member is then folded over to mate with the wall so as to cover the terminals and the solder connections.

  • Patent number: 4424505
Abstract: A coil assembly has a pair of terminals mounted in blind slots in the small flange of a bobbin. Magnet wire is connected to one terminal, wound on the bobbin and connected to the other terminal. Insulated lead wires are connected to the terminals by crimping and then soldering each terminal. Then the terminals are bent over the coil and the insulated wires are pressed through a slot leading to an opening in the larger flange. A cover encloses the bobbin and snaps over the rim of the large flange to complete the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4334164
Abstract: Each of the motor stator poles has a window cut out which functions to create an unbalanced flux distribution and move the magnetic neutral off the centerline of the stator pole. A plurality of permanent magnet rotors are mounted on a common shaft to permit a desired rotor to be moved into the stator field. Each rotor has a different number of poles selected so with any rotor there will always be a whole odd number of poles within the span of a stator pole. Speed is determined by the number of poles in the rotor in operative position.

  • Patent number: 4003010
Abstract: When the electromagnet (relay) is energized, the plunger is pulled into the coil against the bias of the plunger spring. The pin projecting laterally from the plunger is captive in the opening in the cam pivoted on the frame. The pin moves down and strikes a ramp portion in the cam and is deflected to the bottom of the notch where it impacts the cam and rotates it to a position in which the cam surface actuates the switch actuator. The internal switch spring acting on the actuator exerts force on the cam surface and cooperates with the contour to hold the cam in either position. When the coil is de-energized, the plunger moves out and the pin is deflected by the return guide surface of the frame to pass to the opposite side of the cam centerline and into position to actuate the cam in the opposite sense when the coil is again energized.
