    Abstract: Apparatus and methods for controlling the movement of optical fiber cables wherein said apparatus includes a cam plate which defines a pair of cam tracks. A pair of cam followers is also provided such that the cam plate moves with respect to the cam followers from a first location to a second location, and in such a manner that both the extent of the movement and the direction of movement of the structure and an attached optical fiber are controlled.
