  • Patent number: 4085795
Abstract: Geothermal energy is used to provide the temperatures and pressure necessary for catalytic conversion of carbon monoxide and hydrogen to methanol by lowering the reaction chamber into a geothermal well or by otherwise using geothermal fluids to supply heat and pressure to the reaction chamber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 10, 1976
Date of Patent: April 25, 1978
    Inventor: George Herbert Gill
  • Patent number: 4024422
Abstract: A homopolar motor-battery combination having axially magnetized elements alternating with conductive disks attached to a motor shaft. The conductive disks and an electrochemically active shroud member around the disk rims act as battery electrodes to send current through the disks. The current reacts with the axial magnetic field to produce rotation of the disks and shaft when immersed in an electrolyte.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 18, 1976
Date of Patent: May 17, 1977
