  • Patent number: 4217646
Abstract: An automatic system for controlling the environmental conditions in a building divided into a plurality of zones includes a control station that sends control signals over the power lines of the building to control power consuming appliances in the various zones. The control station includes a programmable computer that is operably coupled to various displays and control switches on a control panel. In one mode of operation the switches and displays are utilized to program a schedule into the computer for controlling the various power consuming appliances such as heating and airconditioning units, lights, machinery and the like in order to provide a desired environment within the various zones of the building.

  • Patent number: 4089462
Abstract: A temperature control system having heating and cooling means is provided with a means for automatically shifting the temperature control point in accordance with the outdoor ambient temperature and the K-Factor of the room in which the temperature control system is operating. Means are provided for modifying a signal corresponding to the outdoor ambient temperature in accordance with the K-Factor of the room and the modified signal is used to shift the control point so that room temperature changes caused by heat transfer through the walls are prevented by providing additional heating or cooling to compensate for such transfer without the need for adjusting the set point of the temperature control system. The K-Factor adjustment is made during installation of the temperature control system and is set in accordance with the K-Factor provided by the building architect.

  • Patent number: 4077566
Abstract: The invention provides a system for transmitting operational command signals to one or more remote unit ventilator units from a master control panel. A number of selected command signals corresponding to operational modes such as occupied day, night setback, morning ready and load shedding modes may be transmitted over a two-wire electrical transmission line to which the remote units are parallelly connected. The remote units receive and respond to the command signals by initiating the commanded mode.

  • Patent number: 4037783
Abstract: A unit ventilator includes a means for selecting a minimum volume of fresh air to be delivered to a room in accordance with governmental ventilation codes. A control means is responsive to the selecting means and adjusts an outside air damper to achieve the minimum volume of fresh air selected. An outside air temperature sensor provides a signal corresponding to outside air temperature. The damper control means is responsive to said signal for reducing the volume of outside air admitted to the ventilator in corresponding relation to the outside air temperature so that the volume of fresh air delivered to the room is maintained substantially constant.
