  • Patent number: 6739086
Abstract: A rodent catching trap includes a container in the general form of a rectangular bucket having opposed entrance portals and a transverse metal ramp extending between the lower extremities of the portals. A carrying handle is attached to the container. Inclined infeed ramps extend between the portals and the underlying support surface. An electrode is supported by the handle, and extends downwardly to a bait-holding extremity positioned closely above the metal ramp. Electrical contacts supplied with an electrical source of 5000 to 9000 volts are associated with the electrode and metal ramp. When a rodent enters upon the metal ramp and comes within about ¼ inch of the baited electrode, it is electrocuted and falls to the bottom of the bucket, which contains a pool of water.

  • Patent number: 5720126
Abstract: A portable apparatus for catching rodents includes a container adapted to hold a reservoir of water. A horizontally oriented cylindrical roller is rotatively supported within the container above the water reservoir. A moveable bait-holding arm is positioned above the roller. When a rodent pushes against the bait-holding arm, an electrical circuit is completed which energizes a motor to rotate the roller, causing the rodent to fall into the water reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5697599
Abstract: A winch device which may be truck-mounted and operated by the truck's 12 volt electrical system utilizes an automotive starting motor that interacts with a large diameter disc-like gear. A brake drum and a winch drum are coaxially associated with one face of the disc gear. A brake cable is slidably wound upon the brake drum. A brake lever is provided to control the tension upon the brake cable with consequent adjustment of braking force. A tether is spirally wound upon the winch drum.

  • Patent number: 5094581
Abstract: Apparatus is provided which may be added onto a conventional front-end loader having a pivoted bucket to facilitate the handling of bales such as bales of hay. The apparatus utilizes a grapple, and coupling components which interact between the grapple and the bucket in a manner whereby, when the bucket is pivoted to a lower position, the grapple automatically and synchronously swings upwardly away from the bucket, and when the bucket is pivoted to an upper position, the grapple automatically and synchronously swings downwardly toward the bucket.

  • Patent number: 5058532
Abstract: A device for closing a pivotable wall of an animal squeeze chute utilizes a high torque electric motor that rotates a ratchet arm less than a half revolution about a drive shaft. An action arm pivotably associated with the ratchet arm engages the pivotable wall. When the motor is activated, the ratchet arm is quickly rotated to an extreme position where it is locked in place, and the pivotable wall is simultaneously forced to its closed position by the action arm. When the motor is deactivated and the ratchet arm unlocked, a counterweight restores the pivotable wall to its starting, open position.
