  • Patent number: 4727677
Abstract: A rodent trap especially suited for trapping mice or rats comprises a shell having two parallel sides and a top. A separate enclosure having a concave door, a concave roof and a convex connecting side rigidly connected to the door at one end and to the roof at the other end forming a triangular spaced interior. The enclosure is set inside the shell and pivotally connected to the side walls at the juncture of the door and connecting side of the enclosure. Thus the enclosure can be tilted to a stable position with the enclosure totally enclosed by the side walls and a less stable position with the enclosure partially outside the shell and the interior space of the enclosure is accessible to a rodent. When the rodent enters the enclosure, and climbs onto the connecting side for the bait, the rodent's weight tilts the enclosure backward to a totally closed position, and the rodent is thus trapped within.

  • Patent number: 4706408
Abstract: A rodent trap comprises a trough connected to an elongated platform forming an obtuse angle therebetween. Mounting means having a traverse groove is affixed at an apex formed by the trough and the platform. A supporting wire of a wire structure fits into the groove to assemble the trap. The wire structure is clamped on the rim of a bucket, partially filled with water. Marbles are placed in the back end of the trough and the trap is set in a tilt-back position. When a rodent approaches the bait set on the platform, the platform tilts forward and down, triggering the marbles to roll forward to the front end of the trough thereby accelerating the rapid tilting of the platform, thus dropping the rodent off the platform.

  • Patent number: 4313452
Abstract: The pipe bleeder includes a small holding tank and a sample tube, both of which are filled with water and exposed to the ambient atmospheric temperature. The water in the sample tube freezes first when the ambient temperature is at freezing, which in turn causes a piston and then a push rod in the sample tube to move, the top of the push rod acting against a small cover plate in the holding tank, moving it away from a drain connection. When the cover plate is so moved, water from the water supply pipe will flow at a relatively slow but steady rate through the drain connection to the environment, maintaining a flow of water through the supply pipe and thus preventing the water in the water supply pipe upstream of the pipe bleeder from freezing. An exterior thaw tube is also attached to the drain connection in the holding tank.

  • Patent number: 4089460
Abstract: A rural type mailbox having a pivoted platform therein. The platform is tilted from a manually set, metastable position to a stable position by shiftable weights when an article of mail, such as a letter is placed thereon. Such tilting, through a magnetic coupling and levers causes a signal target to be raised into view whereby the owner of the box is informed that mail has been deposited therein.

  • Patent number: 3975845
Abstract: An ornamental display which simulates a fishbowl with one or more imitation fish moving therein in circular paths, a dipping or bobbing motion being imparted to each of said fish at one or more points in said path by interaction of a wire projecting from said fish with a stationary cam wire.
