Abstract: The invention relates to novel Thermoplastic Olefin compositions comprising polypropylene, and ethylene-alpha olefin elastomer and a compatabilizer comprising an ethylene-propylene copolymer having a propylene content of greater than 80 weight percent. The ethylene-propylene copolymer compatabilizer imparts a greater degree of compatibility between the polypropylene and elastomer phases yielding improved physical properties.

Abstract: Ethylene, alpha-olefin, non-conjugated bicyclic diene elastomeric polymers and/or polymer blends when compounded and formed into a calendered sheet, show surprising improvements for the combination in both green strength and peel adhesion in the unvulcanized state. Such green strength and peel adhesion provide benefits during calendering operations and subsequent joining of calendered sheets, while the compounded elastomeric polymers are in their green or unvulcanized state.

Abstract: A portable cat litter tray is provided which is easily converted from a closed box to an open tray. The litter tray comprises a structure movable between the closed box position and the open tray position, a clip member for imparting rigidity to the side walls of the structure when in the open tray position and, preferably, securing a cat litter-containing bay to the structure when in the open tray position.

Abstract: A carton construction for containing and dispensing an insert is disclosed. The insert is attached to the interior surface of a partially detachable tab. The insert so positioned can be removed from the container without destroying the integrity of the carton or disturbing its contents.

Abstract: A two-stage electrical braking system for a variable speed alternating current induction motor powered from a variable frequency, variable voltage power source utilizes capacitance connected across a primary winding of the motor in a first stage of braking and short-circuits the primary winding in a second braking stage. The system is arranged such that the control of the two braking stages is independent of the motor terminal voltage and braking can be initiated by either a braking command or automatically upon interruption of power to the system. The control system uses a fixed time delay to initiate the second stage of braking a predetermined time interval after the first stage is initiated.

Abstract: A collapsible funnel having a body portion and a movable dam forming an integral part of the body portion located adjacent a fluid inlet for the funnel. The dam in operating condition is in the form of a movable wedge-like configuration.

Abstract: A body electrode for use as the indifferent, return electrode in electrosurgical and the like procedures includes a layer of fibrous webbing contacting a conductive metal plate of the electrode on one side and the patent's body on the other side. The layer of webbing is adapted to be wetted with aqueous conductive fluid medium applied thereto immediately prior to application of the electrode to the body. The webbing is of non-absorbent thermoplastic fibres, e.g. polyester, which will restrain the flow of but not substantially absorb the conductive fluid. The webbing layer is of 1/50 - 1/8 inch thickness and comprises non-absorbent fibres interwoven together in an interlocking manner.
