Publication number: 20240160800Abstract: The disclosed simulation environment, methods, and system support simultaneous design and analysis of assemblies with unified computer aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA). The system provides a simulation environment that is unified with the architecture of the assembly environment, which significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to set up structural simulations as compared to prior simulation tools. The system enables CAD designers to obtain accurate mechanical guidance such as strength and rigidity early and often in the design process, seeing the structural impact of CAD modifications at the sketch, part, and configuration level. Such guidance can be particularly helpful when CAD engineers are determining product fit and form, defining dimensions, and shaping the overall weight and volume of designs.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2024Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Christopher L. Patent number: 5582290Abstract: A device for supporting a set of golf clubs includes a door having a vertical interior surface and an inclined surface that slopes downwardly and outwardly from the interior surface at the lower end of the door. Golf clubs are inserted into the device in an inverted condition, so that grip ends of the clubs contact the inclined surface. A second point of contact with the clubs is provided by a support structure that extends from the interior surface to contact shafts of the clubs near the club heads. A third point of contact is at a side of the golf clubs both opposite to and intermediate of the first two points of contact, thereby providing a triangular configuration of contact support. In the preferred embodiment, the third point of contact is provided by a member that projects inwardly beyond a panel which provides a support seat for the grip ends of the clubs.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 1994Date of Patent: December 10, 1996Assignee: K. Patent number: 5324169Abstract: An apparatus for power production from low velocity fluid flow includes a lateral support arm assembly extending from a vertical drive shaft. A power blade is pivotally secured to the distal end of the support arm, and constrained to pivot within a defined operating angle. The center of force on the power blade is proximal to the power blade pivot, so that at the limit of travel of the support arm the thrust on the power blade moves the power blade into an over-center position, causing the power blade to pivot in retrograde fashion. The pivoted power blade then drives the support arm away from the extreme position, through a neutral position, to the opposite angular position, where the process reiterates and reverses. Thus the lateral support arm is driven continuously in oscillating, lateral motion.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1993Date of Patent: June 28, 1994Inventors: George L. Brown, Paul Hales

Patent number: 5119268Abstract: An electric power distribution device for insulated conductors has a substantially rigid base, a housing, and at least one series of spaced apart support blocks for supporting such conductors at intermittent positions along their length. The support blocks are substantially enclosed within the combination of the housing and the base, extending substantially from the base to a position in close proximity to the housing top. The support blocks are formed of a substantially inflexible material.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 1990Date of Patent: June 2, 1992Inventors: George L. Brown, George M. Brown, Charles L. Brown

Patent number: 4568290Abstract: A lateral thrust drive apparatus for watercraft includes a pair of panel-like blades joined to a respective pair of arms in limited rotational fashion. The arms extend to a pair of parallel drive shafts which extend from a drive housing. Within the housing, a gear assembly drives the shafts in equal and opposite angular excursions, so that the blades diverge and converge in reciprocal fashion. The housing may be removably secured to the stern of a watercraft, and a handle extending from the housing and secured to the gear assembly may be pumped reciprocally to drive the blades and thus propel the craft.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1984Date of Patent: February 4, 1986Inventors: George L. Patent number: 4449591Abstract: An agricultural clean-out drag particularly adapted to smooth out dikes, is mounted upon a boom. The drag is pivoted rearward of center so the front of the drag tends to hang down to bear against the ground. The drag is a shell, semi-circular in shape. The front is flat. The boom is pivoted behind the plow shank and is spring biased downward. The front of the drag is chained to the boom to limit the downward travel of the front of the drag.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1981Date of Patent: May 22, 1984Assignee: Lindell E. Patent number: 4433882Abstract: A modular drawer cabinet includes a pair of generally rectangular cabinet shell members joined edge to edge to form a generally rectangular enclosure having one open end. A double sided edge molding is disposed to engage and retain the confronting edges of the cabinet halves, the molding extending continuously about two sides and one end of the cabinet. Within the enclosure, rectangular channel members are secured to the edge molding along the sides and closed end of the enclosure. Joined to the channel members which extend inwardly from the sides are a pair of drawer roller guides to support a drawer in translatable fashion. At each corner of the enclosure, a C-shaped brace extends vertically to support the weight of subjacent or superjacent enclosures. The corner braces of adjacent, stacked enclosures may be bolted together to form a self-supporting stack of drawer enclosures which may be suspended from above or supported from below.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1982Date of Patent: February 28, 1984Inventor: George L. Patent number: 4108816Abstract: Thermally cross-linkable emulsifying agents are provided by reacting a polyoxyalkylene glycol with an excess of aminoplast resin sufficient to enable one molecule of the aminoplast resin to be reacted onto each end of the glycol. These agents markedly reduce the surface tension of water and are effective emulsifying agents and, when used in aqueous emulsion coating compositions to emulsify a water insoluble resinous component, the cross-linkable emulsifying agents provide Newtonian flow characteristics and they react when the deposited film is baked to resist extraction from the cured film.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventors: George L. Brown, Albert C. Chen

Patent number: 4028294Abstract: Acrylic latices containing epoxy resins are prepared by emulsion polymerization in which an epoxy resin (polyepoxide) is incorporated into at least one of the monoethylenic monomers, including an epoxy-reactive monomer, and the monomers including the epoxy resin are emulsified into water containing surfactant to provide the oil phase of an oil-in-water emulsion. The monomers are then polymerized in the aqueous emulsion using a free radical polymerization catalyst and a reaction temperature which does not cause premature reaction between the epoxy groups and the reactive monomer. This provides thermosetting latex particles of fine particle size in the presence of less emulsifying agent than is normally needed.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1975Date of Patent: June 7, 1977Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventors: George L. Brown, Michael A. Tobias
