  • Publication number: 20160049788
Abstract: An electrical power bypass tool and a method of bypassing electrical power between a power source and branch circuits. The bypass tool includes a tool input breaker; a source bypass breaker in power-providing connection with the input breaker; one or more tool output breakers in power-receiving connection with the input breaker; a portable structure carrying the input breaker and the output breakers; and one or more branch-circuit bypass breakers in power-receiving connection with the tool output breakers.

  • Publication number: 20150035358
Abstract: An electrical power system and a method of managing electrical power. Some embodiments provide improved fault isolation and service continuity circuitry. In some embodiments, a first source breaker is connected in series with a first load breaker. The load breaker can include a shunt trip, and the source breaker can include an associated lockout relay. The lockout relay can be in controlling communication with the shunt trip. Each source breaker can be in power-receiving connection with a power source. A controller can close and open the breakers according to which power source can provide power.

  • Patent number: 8294297
Abstract: A scalable power distribution system for a data center and methods for scaling a power distribution system are described. The scalable power distribution system includes a transformer that is connected to a load at its output. The input of the transformer is connected to two isolation switches. A source is connected to one switch at all times, and the source can be switched without affecting power to the load by synchronizing the two sources at the transformer before switching sources. The load is not de-energized at any time during the transfer process.

  • Patent number: 8212401
Abstract: A redundant power distribution system and a method of providing redundant isolation are described. The system includes a normal operation circuit branch and an external bypass circuit branch, enhanced with a generator bypass connection, both connected to a critical load, the generator bypass circuit branch including a diverse, redundant power source. The normal operation circuit branch delivers power to the critical load during normal operations and the external bypass circuit branch delivers power to the critical load from the redundant power source via the enhanced generator bypass connection during bypass operations. The system also allows the critical load to be electrically isolated from all of or a portion of the normal operation circuit branch.
