  • Patent number: 6985593
Abstract: A vibration reducing apparatus comprising, a baffle subject to vibration, a first electroacoustical transducer characterized by a first mass seated in the baffle, a second electromechanical transducer mechanically connected to said first transducer or said baffle in the vicinity of the periphery of the first transducer. The rear sides of the diaphragms of the first and the second transducer are not connected to the listening area. The first transducer and the second transducer are constructed and arranged to receive a common electrical signal so that the movable element in the first transducer and the movable element in the second transducer move in phase opposition in response to the common electrical signal to significantly reduce the vibrating force imparted to the baffle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 23, 2002
Date of Patent: January 10, 2006
    Assignee: Bose Corporation
Inventors: George Nichols, Amar G. Bose, Hal P. Greenberger

  • Patent number: 6648098
Abstract: The invention features an acoustic waveguide and system for transmitting pressure wave energy produced by an electroacoustical transducer in a medium that propagates pressure wave energy. The acoustic waveguide and system includes a tube defining a spiral-shaped channel with a length of L. The tube has a first end and a second end with the first end closed and the second end open to the medium. The tube has a transducer opening for accommodating an electroacoustical transducer located between the first and second end of the tube. The system includes an electroacoustical transducer mounted to the acoustic waveguide.

  • Patent number: 5971410
Abstract: A leaf carrying cart having a contoured receiving body supported by a pair of spaced parallel arms that converge at a single wheel assembly. The receiving body is defined by a trough in which leaves can be directly raked. The arms extend beyond the receiving body to act as both transportation handles and with deployable ground engagement stakes as anchors for the cart when in use.

  • Patent number: 5915116
Abstract: A method is provided for use in manipulating a time value. Source code text is stored in a first memory and constitutes source code instructions. The source code instructions define a year variable text string representing a year variable data structure for storing the time value. The year variable text string is used in at least one of the source code instructions. Machine code computer data constituting directly-executable instructions is derived from the source code text and stored in a second memory. Each source code instruction defines the contents of a corresponding portion of the machine code computer data and defines a corresponding location in the second memory set for storing the corresponding portion. The machine code computer data are formatted in accordance with a machine language. Each source code instruction is identified that includes the year variable text string.
