  • Patent number: 5050824
Abstract: A metal pipe bracket is disclosed for firmly securing a plumbing pipe within a stud bay. The metal pipe bracket has a U-channel that is slipped over a steel strap nailed between the two studs of a stud bay. Locking tabs located on the pipe bracket aligned with and snapped into locking holes on the steel strap. A metallic plumbing pipe either extending horizontally within the stud bay or vertically within the stud bay is then soldered to the pipe bracket thereby providing a secure attachment between the plumbing pipe and the stud bay structure. Secured in this manner, the plumbing pipe is held secure against vertical, horizontal, and axial movement. A pipe secured in this manner can be attached to a shower head or a shower water mixer valve. Upon subsequent use of the shower head or the mixer valve, the plumbing pipe is secure from movement that would normally be caused by repeated adjustment of the shower head and use of the water mixer valve.

  • Patent number: 4957251
Abstract: A pipe supporting bracket of generally square, channel-shaped cross-section comprises a central web portion with a pair of side flanges depending from the respective opposite side edges of the web portion. The web portion and side flanges have spaced openings along their length for receiving suitable fastener devices for securing pipes against the respective faces of the bracket. In one version, the bracket is secured to the floor and projects vertically to provide pipe locating and securing surfaces. In another version, the central web portion has a projecting portion at one end for locating against and securing to a suitable supporting member.

  • Patent number: 4717099
Abstract: An alignment bracket assembly for holding and aligning a fire sprinkler supply pipe in a horizontal or vertical orientation relative to a pair of spaced apart building members such as joists, studs or T-bar suspended ceiling frame supports comprises a central member of non-circular cross-section, preferably square, and a pair of end members in telescoping sliding engagement at opposite ends of the central member. The end members each have attachment devices at their free ends for securing them to respective spaced building members. A pipe holding bracket is slidably mounted on the central member and has a pair of arms projecting from the central member for engaging opposite faces of the fire sprinkler pipe between them. The arms can be urged towards one another to grip the fire sprinkler pipe to maintain it in a vertical or horizontal orientation and reduce the risk of displacement or misalignment of the fire sprinkler head during ceiling installation.

  • Patent number: 4550451
Abstract: A locator and support for precisely locating and supporting plumbing pipes relative to structure of a building. The support includes a strap fastenable to the building structure and having a plurality of precisely located openings for receiving the pipes, the pipes being secured within the openings by an adhesive or by soldering, or by the clamping action of inserts carried by the strap and receiving the pipes. Such inserts are slotted to laterally receive the pipes, if desired, and are each characterized by a conical or tapered inner surface which spreads the skirts upon insertion of the pipes so that the radially enlarged skirts prevent separation of the inserts from both the strap and the pipes.
