  • Patent number: 5063373
Abstract: A fishing rod holder that incorporates a sensing device to monitor the tension on the fishing line. When the tension increases, this device triggers either a sound or a visual alarm, according to the chosen operational mode, and alerts the fisherman as soon as a first strike occurs. The holder features a pointed tip for easy penetration and a foot rest for applying downward pressure while inserting it into the ground. Its construction consists of a sturdy main frame and a detachable alarm unit for durability and convenience of transportation. When assembled, the alarm unit can be adjusted to vary its position with respect to the rod and its sensitivity to tension in the line.
