  • Patent number: 6129646
Abstract: Manually powered propulsion apparatus includes two pedals mounted on an endless flexible member. Depression of either pedal will cause the other to move to a raised or retracted position. Two crank members are connected to the drive wheel of the cycle incorporating the propulsion apparatus and two additional endless flexible members are connected to the crank members. A one-way clutch mechanism interconnecting the pedals and the two flexible members connected to the crank members will cause rotation of the crank members when a pedal is depressed.

  • Patent number: 6123635
Abstract: Manually powered propulsion apparatus for propelling a cycle includes two pedals which move along parallel linear tracks. A flexible member forming an endless loop is connected to the two pedals to raise a pedal when the other is depressed by a cyclist. In addition, each pedal is connected to an endless flexible member extending around one of a pair of rotatable crank member. Rotation of the crank members results in a propelling force being applied to a wheel of the cycle.

  • Patent number: 6123636
Abstract: Manually-powered propulsion apparatus for propelling a cycle includes two pedals and two rotatable crank members connected to the drive wheel of the cycle. Two flexible cables are connected to the crank members, one of the cables transmitting power from the pedals to the crank members and the other cable causing retraction of a pedal when the cyclist is applying force to the other pedal.

  • Patent number: 6113510
Abstract: Manually powered propulsion apparatus for a cycle includes first and second pedals interconnected by an endless elongated flexible member. Drive elements are affixed to the flexible member which engage drive elements on two crank members employed to apply torque to the drive wheel of the cycle. The crank members rotate during rotation of the flexible member.

  • Patent number: 6090002
Abstract: Manually powered propulsion apparatus includes a pedal and a rotatable member. A flexible transmission member is connected to the pedal and to the rotating member and includes pivotally interconnected link members. The link members are linearly disposed when the pedal is extended and cooperate to form a curved, self-supporting structure between the rotatable member and the pedal when the pedal is retracted.

  • Patent number: 5496051
Abstract: Apparatus for propelling a manually-powered cycle including first and second pedals which move along spaced, linear paths of movement. The pedals are connected to the drive wheel of the cycle through elongated flexible transmission elements which wrap about rotatable crank members used to drive the cycle.
