Abstract: A dent puller includes a bridge having a pair of legs extending outwardly and downwardly therefrom at an angle of approximately forty-five degrees. Each leg has a lower end with a foot. Each foot has a resilient pad secured thereto. An aperture formed through the bridge receives a shaft. An engagement member connected to a lower end of the shaft includes a plate having at least one opening extending therethrough. A knob is connected to the shaft such that application of a rotational force to the knob acts to draw the engagement member toward the bridge. The dent puller may further include a tool adapter comprising a socket engageable with the knob and an arbor extending axially outward from the socket.

Abstract: An improved sole or insole for providing puncture resistance in boots and other types of shoes includes multiple layers of a tightly woven, puncture resistant fabric, formed from high tensile strength synthetic or polymeric fibers, such as Kevlar®, a polyaramid. The layers of puncture resistant fabric generally are not bonded together or adhered together by adhesives or the like. The layers of puncture resistant fabric may be secured together along the outer peripheries thereof, or they may be secured within a pocket formed from a covering material, such as foam, or in a pocket formed between an inner and outer sole of the boot or shoe.

Abstract: A stand for supporting an automobile body panel having a peripheral edge for inspection and repair comprises two sets of clamping members secured on opposite ends of two clamping assemblies which are pivotally mounted to the top of a vertically oriented telescoping support assembly. Each clamping member include a clamp pad having a groove formed therein and adapted to receive a peripheral edge of the automobile body panel to support the panel during inspection and repair.

A preferred embodiment of the lens having at least one light colored translucent strip adjacent at least one dark colored opaque strip and a narrow reference strip which is luminescent or of intensified light and which extends across at least a portion of the dark colored opaque strip. The characteristics of the reflected light from the luminescent or intensified light reference strip makes the reference strip stand out more than a reference strip which is not luminescent or of intensified light thereby facilitating the detection of dents.

The lens on one side of the panel is yellow with a painted black stripe thereon with the black stripe irregularly "bleeding" into the yellow to create diverse shadow lines. The lens on the opposite side of the panel is white with a similar black stripes. Each black stripe includes a narrow centerline of white or black, respectively which serves as a reference. A fluorescent lamp is positioned between the lenses to project a shadow line light pattern onto the surface to be inspected for dents or imperfections. The white and black shadow line pattern is more effective at highlighting flaws in darker colored surfaces while the yellow and black shadow line pattern is more effective at highlighting flaws in lighter colored surfaces.

Abstract: A portable dent highlighting unit for inspecting a surface of an automobile or other structure for imperfections includes a light box and a power supply unit. The light box comprises a framework having an open front face and a fluorescent lamp secured therein. A lens is removably securable to the framework to extend across the open front face such that the lamp is positioned therebehind. Opposed front and back surfaces of the lens are painted or formed with alternating areas of light and dark colors. On one side, the light areas are yellow, and on the other they are white. The light box is supported on support arms which are magnetically securable to automobile body panels. The power supply unit includes an internal battery, a converter, an electrical connector connectable to an outside power source and a switch. The lamp in the light box is selectively connectible to the internal battery or an outside power source through the converter.
