  • Publication number: 20110076485
Abstract: The present invention is directed to substrates coated with a transparent or translucent film-forming composition, prepared from a curable, two-package composition comprising a first and second reactive package. The first reactive package contains a polyamine component comprising: i) a polyether functional polyamine; ii) an aspartic ester functional polyamine; and iii) an aliphatic polyamine. The second reactive package comprises a polyisocyanate, and the curable composition, under ambient conditions, upon mixing of the reactive packages, demonstrates a gel time of at least 2500 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20110040016
Abstract: Curable, two-package compositions are provided comprising a first and second reactive package. The first reactive package comprises: a) a polyether functional polyamine; b) a polyamine comprising an aspartic ester functional polyamine and/or one or more hindered amines; and c) an aliphatic secondary polyamine. The second reactive package comprises a polyisocyanate having a viscosity of ?2000 centipoise (cPs) at a temperature?7° C. The curable composition, upon mixing of the reactive packages at ambient temperature, demonstrates a gel time of less than 120 seconds, and is suitable for use as a mortar or caulk.

  • Publication number: 20100311890
Abstract: The present invention is directed to curable, two-package compositions comprising a first and second reactive package. The first reactive package comprises: a) a polyamine component comprising: i) an aspartic ester functional polyamine; and ii) an aromatic polyamine; and b) a rheology modifier. The second reactive package comprises a polyisocyanate, and the curable composition, upon mixing of the reactive packages, demonstrates a gel time of at least 10 minutes.

  • Publication number: 20090098386
Abstract: The present invention is directed to waterborne curable film-forming compositions comprising a film-forming resin, a crosslinking agent, and an additive comprising isostearic acid neutralized with dimethylethanolamine. The compositions are essentially free of additives derived from reaction products of isocyanate functional materials and alkoxypolyalkylene compounds. The present invention further provides multi-component composite coating compositions comprising a first film-forming composition applied to a substrate to form a primer or base coat, and a second film-forming composition applied on top of the primer or base coat to form a top coat, the top coat comprising the composition described above. Coating compositions prepared from the curable compositions of the present invention demonstrate superior pop resistance properties, making them ideally suited for automotive applications.
