  • Patent number: 5438785
Abstract: A system for assembling the barrel of a medium or large caliber gun on a sleeve of the gun's breech block assembly includes a nut designed to be screwed on a threaded end of the barrel. The nut is inserted into a cavity inside the sleeve, and a device for driving the nut in rotation is provided. The driving device includes a gear mechanism and a drive system operated from the outside of the sleeve, the drive system being designed to engage the gear mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5231244
Abstract: Open breech weapon comprising a barrel having a rear end locked to a casing, a rotor rotatably mounted in said casing about an axis parallel to said barrel, said rotor comprising at least one peripheral cavity which extends parallel to the rotation axis of the rotor, control means for driving in rotation said rotor the cavity of which, during one rotation of the rotor, comes successively into opposition with a feeding position to receive an ammunition round from a feeding device, with a firing position where said cavity is coaxial with said barrel to fire the ammunition by action of a firing pin, and with an ejecting position to eject the shell of the last fired ammunition round through an ejection device.

  • Patent number: 5225625
Abstract: The invention relates to a safety device, for an automatic weapon with "floating" firing, including a rotating drum (2) driven by an external motor for driving a breech with a reciprocating motion. The safety device includes locking devices (14) for the rotating of the drum in each cycle, and control devices for retracting the locking devices when the weapon recoils, the control devices being fitted to act on the locking devices for a predetermined recoil travel distance, independently of the weapon recoil starting position.

  • Patent number: 5180879
Abstract: The invention relates to an ammunition supply device for an automatic weapon that undergoes translational motion in relation to a fixed magazine. It comprises at least one slide fitted with gripping devices (9) for ammunition (11), and primary guide mechanisms (12,13) to bring the slide from a longitudinal position that is random in relation to the weapon to a longitudinal position that is predetermined in relation to the weapon.

  • Patent number: 5138930
Abstract: The invention relates to a locking device for the breech of an automatic weapon in which the longitudinal movement of the breech (4) is generated by a rotating drum (1) driven by an external motor. It comprises a locking wedge (6) that moves under the effect of a cam (10) rotated in synchronization with the drum, between a retracted position that allows the free passage of the breech, and a locking position in which the limit surfaces (7,8) working in conjunction on the breech and on the wedge lock the breech in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4704945
Abstract: The field of the invention is that of percussion devices used in automatic weapons. The invention consists of integrating the firing pin 12 with carrier piece 1 during the locking phase and then with the movable bolt head 7 during the recoil phase. The integration means consists of levers 17 pivoting on the firing pin about shaft 18 and bearing on surfaces 23 and 26 on the movable bolt head and counterpin 14, respectively. The invention finds its applications in the field of weaponry and, more particularly, in small- and medium-caliber weapons.

  • Patent number: 4167888
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an automatic firearms having a rotatable drum with helical grooves therein so arranged as to cause a follower guided by said grooves to reciprocate at a speed proportional to the rotational speed of the drum. The reciprocation of the follower causes the breech mechanism to reciprocate between loading and firing positions. The drum is driven by means independent of the propulsion energy of the projectiles fired, and therefore, may be operated at varying speeds by means such as an electric motor or even by hand.

  • Patent number: 4154143
Abstract: This disclosure relates to an automatic weapon having a breech mechanism driven in reciprocation by an external motor and equipped with a device to keep the breech mechanism from moving from the advanced or forward locked position in case of a hangfire. If a "shot departure" sensor fails to sense the departure of a shot a spring projects bolts into the path of the breech mechanism and locks it at the start of its recoil stroke.
