The cavities include a first cavity formed longitudinally between the first baffle and the second baffle. The first cavity is fluidly coupled with perforations in the first skin. The first septum extends from the first skin and the first baffle to the second skin and the second baffle. The first septum divides the first cavity into fluidly coupled sub-cavities. At least one element of the panel includes at least one first rib and at least one second rib, the first rib extends along a first trajectory and the second rib extends along a second trajectory that is non-parallel with the first trajectory.

    Abstract: A method of forming a component includes depositing a ceramic material within an open-cell void of a polymer body. The ceramic material deposited around the periphery of the open-cell void structure forms a thermally-conductive path through the polymer body. The ceramic material circumscribes an open volume extending the entire length of the thermally-conductive path that is filled with a sealant such that fluids are incommunicable from the first surface to the second surface via the thermally-conductive path. A method of forming a heat exchanger includes forming a plurality of plates, each plate formed as a thermally-conductive polymer body. The method of forming the heat exchanger further includes arranging the plurality of plates within a housing to form a plate and frame heat exchanger configured to place a first flowpath in a heat exchange relationship with a second flowpath.

    Abstract: A method includes providing a workpiece with at least one surface having an anodized aluminum coating and a trivalent chromium sealant. The at least one surface of the workpiece is submerged in a post-treatment sealant solution for 0.5 to 20 minutes. The sealant composition consists essentially of a corrosion inhibitor formulation, a water soluble polymer, an organic complexing agent, and an oxidant. The corrosion inhibitor formulation is formulated from at least one anodic corrosion inhibitor compound, at least one cathodic corrosion inhibitor compound, or a combination thereof. A concentration of each of the corrosion inhibitor formulation, the water soluble polymer, the organic complexing agent, and the oxidant is each in a range of 1-50 mM.
