  • Publication number: 20070199189
Abstract: A hand held tool for maintaining an S-cam drum brake assembly includes an elongated middle portion and a first end which is adapted for facilitating removal and installation of the return spring. A notch is provided in the first end for receiving a rigid rod of the return spring and for enabling a surface of the first end to abut an end of one coil of the return spring when the first end is inserted through the pair of the spaced ribs in a brake shoe. An offset portion is formed intermediate the middle portion and the first end of the tool for positioning it for engagement with the coil of the return spring when at least one of the rollers is removed from the drum brake assembly and when the middle portion of the tool abuts an end of the S-cam. An opposed second end of the tool is adapted for facilitating removal and installation of rollers.

  • Patent number: 5416826
Abstract: An electronically-operated gun safe which has an telephone system that establishes an interactive telephone contact with law enforcement authorities when the gun safe is opened with an emergency key word. A non-emergency key word allows the gun safe to be opened without establishing a telephone contact with law enforcement authorities. The telephone system provides an alarm when the gun safe is disconnected from an external telephone wire without first opening the gun safe with the non-emergency key word. A 9-1-1 key word allows a telephone contact to be established without opening the gun safe. A master key word allows the gun safe to be opened if the emergency key word is lost or forgotten. The gun safe is locked out for a time period when successive incorrect key words are attempted and a tamper display alerts an owner that an unauthorized entry has been attempted.

  • Patent number: 4085438
Abstract: Digital sootblower control systems and methods therefor are provided in accordance with the teachings of the present invention. In the digital sootblower control systems provided within the present invention, a programmable controller is interconnected to a scanner, a display panel, sootblower drivers, sootblower signal receivers, and information input panels. The information input panels are capable of designating sootblowers within the system, sootblowing program routines to be established and sequences of program routines to be initiated. The programmable controller is provided with an executive program which is determinative of system parameters to be monitored as well as limits upon sootblowing program routines to be established. Once a sootblowing program routine has been initiated by an operator, the programmable controller issues orders to the sootblower drivers to start an initial sequence of sootblowers defined in the inititated sootblowing program routine.
