The covering includes a front framework section mounted on the front portion of the body, a rear framework section mounted on the rear portion of the vehicle body, and a top framework section interconnecting the front and rear sections. The front and rear framework sections are disposed in a collapsed folded state and are extendable and erectible, with the top framework section interconnecting the front and rear framework sections. A transparent flexible windscreen can be attached to the front framework section. Top, back, and side covers can be attached to the remainder of the framework, the framework being permanently mounted to the vehicle.
