  • Patent number: 6499192
Abstract: An attic door pull having a ball chain attached to an attic door at one end and a finial attached to the other end by a coupler. The coupler includes a bore and the balls of the ball chain disposed in the bore are of a diameter less than the remaining balls.

  • Patent number: 5678703
Abstract: A large diameter curtain rod has a small, lamp shade finial fixed to the ends through an adapter. The adapter may have a screw with a wood-screw thread on one end and a machine-screw thread on the other. The wood-screw thread is inserted into the rod, and the finial is screwed onto the machine-screw thread. When the finial thread does not match the screw thread, a bushing is used to adapt the screw thread. An end cap can cover the end of the rod and be held in place by the bushing or the finial. For metal rods, an end cap has a female thread to engage the rod; and, a threaded stud for receiving a finial extends from the end cap.

  • Patent number: 5613772
Abstract: A finial adapter is selectively fixable to the wire of a clip-on lamp shade to allow use of a finial on clip-on lamp shades. Centrally of the plate, feet automatically center the adapter into the appropriate position to attach to the wire. The adapter has a plate having an upwardly extending stud to receive the finial, and downwardly extending tabs to engage the wires on the shade. Wire spreaders separate the wires of the shade and urge the wires into locking contact with the tabs. Centrally of the plate, feet extending down to surround the washer of the clip for the shade to center the finial adapter on the shade.

  • Patent number: 5611618
Abstract: A finial for a lamp shade has a conventional finial base to screw onto the stud of a harp. A bail extends upwardly from the base and supports a hook from which an ornament can be suspended. An ornament having a chain thereon can be hung from the hook, or an adapter can be used to suspend a conventional finial. The conventional finial base has a central hole, and the bail is received within the hole and glued or otherwise fixed in place. The bail can be sized so the finial can be used on a lamp shade having downwardly extending wires, the ornament being supported above the lamp shade so the ornament appears to float above the shade.

  • Patent number: 5388710
Abstract: A merchandising display device for fan pulls provides a transparent disk carried by a ceiling fan. The disk has a plurality of hook members depending therefrom for receiving a fan pull. The hook members include a mounting flange fixed to the disk, and a depending hook. The hook defines a slot for receiving the chain attached to a fan pull. A stud centrally of the disk fixes the disk to the light adapter of the fan.

  • Patent number: 5339618
Abstract: An adapter is used to connect a conventional lamp shade finial to a pull chain for a fan or the like. The adapter has a length of bead chain, and a threaded member on one end of the chain. A larger bead prevents the threaded member from coming off the chain; and, the threaded member is sized to be received by the standard base for a lamp shade finial. A lip on the threaded member limits the insertion of the threaded member into the finial base. The other end of the length of bead chain has a connector to connect the adapter to the existing pull chain, and this may be a conventional bead chain connector.

  • Patent number: 5262209
Abstract: For attaching an ornament of glass or the like to a finial base, an attachment device has a base that is fixed directly to the finial base, and a cup to receive the ornament. The cup is rigid, and is shaped the same as the ornament so no bending or other manipulation of the cup is required prior to attachment. In attaching the ornament, therefore, a quantity of adhesive is placed into the cup, and the ornament urged into the cup. The adhesive spreads out uniformly between the cup and the ornament, and the finial is allowed to sit while the adhesive cures.
