  • Patent number: 5538197
Abstract: An archery bowstring serving tool is provided in the form of an attachment to a conventional portable cordless electric power drill the motor of which provides the drive power for the tool. A drive bevel gear couples the drill motor output shaft to a driven bevel gear the body of which mounts a spool of serving line and a guide for delivering serving line through a radial slot in the gear body to an output guide which, upon rotation of the driven bevel gear, wraps serving line around bowstring extending through the radial slot at the axis of rotation of the driven bevel gear.

  • Patent number: 4187826
Abstract: A compound archery bow has resilient limbs pivotally attached to the opposite ends of a central handle by hinges allowing the limbs to be folded between an operative position and a folded position. The limbs are releasably secured in an operation position by a latch mechanism. A secondary cable interconnects each limb and a tensioning lever on the handle for adjustably pre-tensioning the limbs. A ratchet shaft assembly pivotally mounts the tensioning levers and allows the tension of each limb to be adjusted. The limbs can be relaxed by lengthening a stringer, whereupon the latch mechanism can be opened, allowing the limbs to be released and pivoted on the hinges to their folded position adjacent the belly side of the bow. Cam members are mounted at the outer end of each limb and around which the end segments of the bow string are wrapped at least about 270.degree. in each direction.

  • Patent number: 4170980
Abstract: An archery bow arrow rest includes a hollow cylinder threaded externally for removable attachment in a threaded opening through the handle of an archery bow and threaded internally for removable attachment of a hollow, externally threaded guide sleeve which anchors a support plate and slidably guides a spring-loaded plunger for axial movement on the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. An arrow rest arm is mounted pivotally at one end on the support plate for arcuate movement in a plane disposed below and parallel to the axis of movement of the plunger, and is spring-loaded in a manner to return the arm to an intermediate, arrow supporting position.

  • Patent number: 4142298
Abstract: A one-piece carriage is proportioned for sliding engagement with an elongated guide which mounts an elongated micrometer screw laterally thereof and parallel thereto. An integral, lateral extension of the carriage overlies the screw and is provided with a slot perpendicular to the screw, the slot freely receiving the latch portion of a lever which is secured pivotally in the slot by a pivot pin disposed parallel to the screw. The outer portion of the lever forms a lever actuator for engagement with the screw, a spring interengaging the lever and carriage for urging the latch portion resiliently into engagement with the screw. The carriage also supports a block which mounts an archery bow sight.

  • Patent number: 3965884
Abstract: A bow string support lever is pivoted intermediate its ends on an arm which is in turn pivoted on a body member which includes a pair of finger grips. A catch on one end of the lever is arranged to engage a pawl operatively associated with the body member when the lever and arm are pivoted to a cocked position, whereby to secure the lever against pivotal movement. A hook on the opposite end of the lever is arranged to receive the bow string and to support the latter when in said cocked position. Upon slight lateral movement of the body member, the catch is disengaged from the pawl whereupon the lever is released to pivot from the cocked position and allow the bow string to disengage from the hook.
