  • Publication number: 20070225603
Abstract: Systems and methods for using antiprotons for terminating unwanted or undesirable cells which can be used in the treatment of conditions caused by the existence and/or proliferation of such undesirable cells. Such conditions include cardiovascular ailments, Parkinson's disease, wet macular degeneration, endocrine disorders, dermatological ailments, and cancer. Because of the unique nature of antiprotons and their annihilation characteristics, the preferred antiproton delivery device (1010, 1015, 1030) embodiments further incorporate detector arrays (1050a), capable of detecting characteristic emissions in the course of treatment.

  • Publication number: 20070140401
Abstract: Method producing a design for a nuclear fuel element, the method including: inducing, with antiprotons, nuclear fission in a transuranic material, such as depleted uranium; measuring leakage of radioactive byproduct produced by the fission; and producing, responsive to the measuring, a design for the nuclear fuel element. Apparatus, manufactures, and products produced by the method can be encompassed.

  • Publication number: 20070114381
Abstract: Particle harvesting apparatus and method. The apparatus can include at least one electric field configured to separate charged particles and to confine some of the charged particles. The apparatus can be used to separate desired charged particles from other particles, for example, in space. The apparatus can reduce kinetic energies of the desired charged particles, and can store the desired charged particles.

  • Publication number: 20070114380
Abstract: Particle storing apparatus including only one electric field restraining charged particles, such as antiprotons, in an ultrahigh vacuum from striking a container surface for a half-life of at least 1 hour. Depending on implementation, restraining can be devoid of a magnetic field, and the container can be devoid of cryogenic cooling or need not include a dewar.

  • Publication number: 20050207843
Abstract: A lightweight one man screed apparatus to automatically strike off and level uncured concrete flatwork, includes a tri-pod framework beneath which a cutting/leveling member operates. The apparatus is controlled by two grade setting devices, adjustably mounted to the screed tool, which may be adjusted relative to a laser plane generating system. Physical control of the screed member may be provided by at least one screed tool pivotal arm assembly moved for and aft by a carriage operated under the tri-pod framework within a fore and aft footprint. The screed tool is adjusted to grade by being raised or lowered by at least one linear actuators responding to an electronic controller. When moving the framework and screed assembly into freshly poured concrete, an operator is assisted by retractable wheels. The wheels are rotationally stowable or used deployed as part of the tripod/transport system facilitating mobility.

  • Patent number: 6766205
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention is a method for providing network based optimization tools. The method may be implemented in a system having a user system connected to a host system by a network and a transfer function database accessible by the host system. The method includes presenting the user system with an application setup screen including application fields having predefined application parameters. The user system is presented with at least one transfer function descriptor in response to user-selected predefined application parameters. The user system is presented with a factor and a response in response to a user-selected transfer function. The responses are recalculated in response to the user system altering a value associated with a factor or a response.
