  • Patent number: 8223762
Abstract: A private IP address is converted into a public IP address in a communications network without adapting a client software. The conversion of the private IP addresses into the public IP addresses is carried out via a network address translation. The private IP address of each terminal included in a payload of the IP data packet is convertible into a corresponding public IP address and, if necessary, vice-versa.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 2006
Date of Patent: July 17, 2012
Assignee: Siemens Enterprise Communications GmbH & Co. KG

  • Publication number: 20080316929
Abstract: A guaranteeing a quality of service in a decentralized network, wherein at least one first network element at least temporarily provides a service for at least one second network element is provided. The parameters relevant for the quality of service are provided via an authentication of the first network element.

  • Publication number: 20080307225
Abstract: There is described a method for locking on or legal interception of encrypted communication connections, preferably in a peer-to-peer network. If all users in a communication network have a digital certificate, a good authentication and an end-to-end encryption of communication data is possible. A modification of network elements is disclosed to nevertheless provide legal tapping from authorized positions. The above can be used on a special tapping mode, in which the keys for all incoming and outgoing messages are provided to an authorized control position.

  • Publication number: 20080253292
Abstract: In decentralized networks such as, for example, peer-to-peer networks, services are not furnished by centralized units, but between the network elements. These also carry out access controls and notify the centralized servers of charge registrations of the services utilized. By suitable valid or invalid inquiry messages, it is monitored by using random sampling, whether the peers fulfill their tasks with regard to charge registration and access controls.

  • Publication number: 20080052237
Abstract: In peer-to-peer networks, the services are not provided by central units, but the individual subscriber peers provide them reciprocally, with digitally signed data being stored as resources in the peer-to-network. The data can act as non-rejectable data for billing information if they are transmitted to central collection points. For optimization, only the hash values of the data records and appropriate information that is relevant to the billing process are signed instead of the data records themselves.
