  • Publication number: 20020017225
Abstract: A nestable pallet includes a top deck which has an upper surface and a periphery, and also includes at least one foot member which extends from the periphery of the top deck. The foot member has a cutout which extends to the upper surface of the top deck, and which may be directed outwardly from the top deck. The cutout is arranged to receive a corresponding foot member of another pallet which is positioned thereabove in a nested orientation. The foot member may be disposed along a side of the top deck, or in a corner of the top deck. The pallet may also include at least one non-peripheral foot member extending downwardly from the top deck.

  • Patent number: 6289823
Abstract: A nestable pallet includes a top deck which has a substantially planar upper surface upon which a plurality of objects. The top deck has an upper surface and at least one opening formed therein. The pallet also includes a foot portion corresponding to the at least one opening. The foot portion has an inner surface, an outer surface, and an upright member which projects upwardly toward the top deck and has a hollow area disposed thereunder. In a nesting orientation, the hollow area receives the upward projecting member of a subjacent pallet. Preferably, the upper surface of the top deck portion is flat and substantially planar, upon which a plurality of objects are capable of resting. The opening, the inner surface and the upright member define a pocket for receiving the foot portion of a like pallet in a nesting orientation. In another embodiment, the pocket includes at least one aperture for drainage. In still another embodiment, the pocket includes at least one nesting stop portion.

  • Publication number: 20010015329
Abstract: A stackable case for retaining and transporting bottles including outer side walls forming an outer shell having a longitudinal axis and a horizontal axis, a case bottom disposed substantially within the outer shell, and a plurality of supports for supporting the outer surfaces of the bottles. The side walls include a lower wall portion and a plurality of spaced upwardly projecting pylons, where four corner pylons define the four corners of the case. A plurality of spaced upwardly projecting columns generally disposed within the outer shell define, in combination with the case bottom, the side walls and the end walls, a plurality of bottle retaining pockets. The columns and the pylons extend above the lower wall portions and below a top surface of the retained bottles. At least one of the side walls includes an integrally molded logo which identifies the source of the goods.

  • Patent number: 6260706
Abstract: A multi-purpose tray is provided which allows for stacking and cross-nesting of like trays, and allows for stacking, but not cross-nesting, of unlike trays. The tray includes a generally rectangular bottom surface having at least one cross-nesting aperture formed therein, and a pair of opposed end walls extending upwardly from the bottom surface. The opposed end walls include a plurality of feet formed along lower edges thereof and a plurality of pockets formed along upper edges thereof, wherein the pockets of the tray receive the feet of another tray when the trays are disposed in a stacked configuration. The tray further includes a pair of opposed side walls extending upwardly from the bottom surface and integrally joined with the pair of opposed end walls. One of the pair of opposed side walls includes at least one raised portion that is sized and located to be slidably received by the cross-nesting aperture of another like tray when the trays are disposed in a cross-nested configuration.

  • Patent number: 6209742
Abstract: A collapsible container orientable between assembled and collapsed positions having a base, a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls. The base has a pair of opposing upstanding end flanges integral thereto defining a corner line at each end and a side face member perpendicular. A pair of opposing side edges lie in a plane parallel to and spaced inward from an adjacent co-planar pair of side face members and extending therebetween. Opposing side walls are pivotably attached to one of the opposing side edges, forming an extension of the base when the container is in assembled. Each side wall has a latch member at each lateral edge having upper and lower curved surfaces and a tooth at its distal end. Each end wall has a pair of flanges with an opening sized to slidingly receive a latching member in the assembled state and is securely held by a living hinge. The container is adapted to being nestable when in the collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 5855277
Abstract: A low depth, nestable display crate for bottles, preferably of single serve capacity, is integrally molded from plastic and comprises two basic components--a floor and a wall structure extending up from the floor and extending around the periphery of the floor. The floor preferably has an open lattice design and includes container support areas. The bottom surface of the floor is configured for accommodating the tops of bottles in a similar crate underneath. The wall structure comprises a lower wall portion adjacent the floor and a plurality of integrally formed pylons arranged around the periphery of the crate. The pylons are hollow and tapered so that pylons of empty crates can nest within one another. Handles are integrally formed to extend between pylons on opposing walls to provide handle bars flush with the tops of the pylons.
