  • Patent number: 6073528
Abstract: The bar of a chain saw is attached to a jig which includes a support block pivotally attached to a pair of spaced support arms extending outwardly therefrom for supporting a log or branch to be cut, and fingers extending angularly forwardly and upwardly from the ends of the support arms for scooping up logs and branches from the ground onto the support arms and into contact with a pair of spaced upright, toothed stop arms on the support arms which prevent kickback or twisting of the log or branch as it is being cut by the chain saw as the support block is pivoted relative to the support arms between non-use and use positions.

  • Patent number: 6001202
Abstract: A method of spin welding a fastener to an article and such an article. In a preferred mode, a method of spin welding a fastener to a surface conditioning treating article is disclosed. The fastener comprises a generally planar base including a first side, a second side, and a drive member extending from the second side. The surface treating article comprises a working surface adapted to treat a workpiece surface, and a back surface, the back surface comprising an open woven scrim. The first side of the fastener base is melt-bonded by the spin weld method to the open woven scrim of the surface treating article.

  • Patent number: 4691993
Abstract: A directional image is created in transparent sheeting comprising a monolayer of microlenses by forming deformations in at least some of the microlenses by irradiation with a laser beam which has a short pulse duration. The directional images may be formed in transparent sheeting which has been applied to a document as an overlay. When viewed under diffuse lighting conditions, the deformations appear as a dark image. The deformations may be formed so that when viewed under retroreflective conditions within a conical field the image is darker than the surrounding background, and when viewed under retroreflective conditions outside the conical field the image is brighter than the surrounding background.
