Publication number: 20230356607Abstract: Electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) are described. These stations can dynamically switch between different charge modes depending upon the needs of the station operator and its customers. For example, each charger of an EVCS can be switched between an independent charging mode, a parallel charging mode, a sequential charging mode and a vehicle-to-vehicle changing mode. The architectures described herein rely on DC-coupled EV chargers to provide a more efficient and lower cost approach for delivering power to vehicles while enabling different charging modes. These architectures are particularly suitable for use in fleet charging stations— charging stations installed at commercial or industrial locations that include multiple charge points—and freeway charging stations—charging stations located every 25 to 100 miles along a freeway.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2023Publication date: November 9, 2023Applicant: Positive Energy Inc.Inventors: Gerald Steven McAlwee, Vincent Benini

Patent number: 10602847Abstract: A seatback assembly is provided having a thoracic support structure. The thoracic support structure includes a center portion extending in an upright direction and is adapted to be positioned adjacent the seatback to align adjacent a thoracic region a user's spine. The center portion is formed of a first foam material having a first hardness. A pair of side portions are disposed adjacent to and connected with the center portion. The side portions are formed of a second foam material having a second hardness. The first hardness is greater than the second hardness for providing support to the user's spine. An adjustment mechanism is connected to the thoracic support structure for positioning the support structure along the seatback so that the center portion provides support to at least a portion of the thoracic region of the user's spine.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2013Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: Lear CorporationInventors: Winsen C. Patent number: 8657379Abstract: A head restraint assembly includes a post assembly which has a first post section, a second post section, and a cross member section connecting the first post section and the second post section. The first post section and the second post section are adapted to engage a vehicle seat. The head restraint includes a bun moveably attached to the post assembly, a first gear, and a motor that rotates the first gear in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. Rotation of the first gear drives a second gear which drives a third gear. Rotation of the second gear in a first direction causes movement of the bun to a tilted position while movement of the second gear in a second direction causes movement of the bun to an upright position.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2012Date of Patent: February 25, 2014Assignee: Lear CorporationInventors: Mladen Humer, Arjun Yetukuri, Gerald Steven Locke, Jasmine Pizana

Publication number: 20130134761Abstract: An adjustable vehicle head restraint assembly is provided with a post mounted in a vehicle proximate to a seat back. A transverse shaft is mounted to the post. A head restraint is pivotally connected to the transverse shaft. An actuator is mounted to the head restraint. A striker is mounted to one of the transverse shaft and the head restraint. A latch is mounted to the other of the transverse shaft and the head restraint in engagement with the striker, such that actuation of the actuator in the transverse direction disengages the latch from the striker for rotation of the head restraint relative to the transverse shaft. Rotation of the head restraint from a collapsed position to an upright position causes the latch to engage the striker, which retracts the latch until the head restraint reaches the upright position, and the latch extends thereby locking the head restraint.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2011Publication date: May 30, 2013Applicant: LEAR CORPORATIONInventors: Scott Andrew Willard, Arjun Yetukuri, Gerald Steven Locke

Publication number: 20110206462Abstract: An apparatus for replacing underground plastic pipe consisting of a mole, flexible cable, pulling devise and water pump. The mole is a cone shaped tool consisting of a nose section, cutting blades, water nozzles and a hose barb. The flexible cable is inserted through the existing pipe, one end is attached to the pulling devise and the other end is attached to the nose section of the mole. Replacement pipe is attached to the hose barb section of the mole on one end and to the water pump on the other end. As the pulling devise pulls the mole along the path of the existing pipe, the cutting blades split the existing pipe and water from the nozzles erode and moisten the soil surrounding it. The cone shape of the mole expands the split pipe out into the moistened soil, creating clearance for the new pipe being pulled into place.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2010Publication date: August 25, 2011Applicant: MR. Patent number: 6949267Abstract: Methods are disclosed for providing a library of composite compositions on a support. The method involves depositing one or more components onto the support on either discrete spaced regions of the support or as a continuous concentration gradients on the surface of the support. The composite samples can be removed from the support by drilling out portions of the coated support so as to yield individual composite tablets containing the support with one or more component layers thereon. By using this method, a vast number of composites can be made and tested simultaneously.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2002Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: Engelhard CorporationInventors: Ahmad Moini, Gerald Steven Koermer, Christopher R. Castellano

Patent number: 6869666Abstract: The present invention discloses methods of controlling the puncturability, and optionally the sealability (the ability of a film to conform around a puncturing object) and resealability (the ability of a film to close a hole made by a puncturing object), of polymeric films. Systems comprising a film and puncturing object are also disclosed. Puncturability is controlled by achieving targeted levels of the friction between the film and a puncturing object, the film's flexural rigidity, the film's recovering stress, and the film's elongation at break.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2001Date of Patent: March 22, 2005Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Gerald Steven Deeb, Douglas Adelbert Devens, Jr., Dennis Louis Krueger, Marcia Christine Nichols
