  • Publication number: 20240097634
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a travelling wave parametric amplifier (TWPA) includes forming a superconducting junction on a substrate. Trenches are etched away through a metal surface and into a layer of dielectric material. The trenches define a plurality of fingers positioned in an interdigitated arrangement of capacitors defined by a metal and a dielectric material that remains from the etched away metal surface and the layer of dielectric material.

  • Patent number: 6248949
Abstract: An improved method of manufacturing a solar cell receiver plate of a concentrator photovoltaic array. A plurality of strips each having its own linear electrical circuit are connected to the top surface of a primary aluminum substrate. The strips are aligned parallel to each other and laterally spaced from each other a predetermined distance. Each strip has a plurality of solar cells mounted thereon. The electrical circuits are connected together in series. Cooling fins are secured to the bottom surface of the primary aluminum substrate. The strips have been formed from a secondary aluminum substrate that had its dielectric layer adhered to its top surface by a layer of adhesive. A second layer of adhesive covers the top surface of the dielectric layer which in turn is covered by a sheet of copper to form a laminated first assembly.

  • Patent number: 6020555
Abstract: Each of a plurality of solar cells is disposed on a base member made from an electrically insulating material. Each of the solar cells has first and second cell portions separated by an insulating gap, the first cell portion being positive and the second portion being negative. A third cell portion may be provided in each solar cell with the first portion being disposed between, and in insulated relationship to, the second and third portions and with the third portion being negative. Each of the solar cells may include a positive termination extending from the first cell portion and a negative termination extending from the second (and third) cell portion(s) and separated from the first cell portion by an insulating gap. Each of a plurality of diodes is disposed on an individual one of the base members across the insulating gap between the positive and negative terminations of an individual one of the solar cells on the base member.

  • Patent number: 4842281
Abstract: A board game utilizes a rectangular game board having a peripheral path of movement formed by a series of squares. Intersecting horizontal and vertical movement paths positioned on the interior of the game board connect with the peripheral movement path. Various squares of the movement paths are printed with individual letters of the key phrase "LIFE'S LITTLE PLEASURES" and also with the letters of the word "ZONK". Various squares of the movement paths are designated with monetary rewards or penalties. Certain squares are random chance squares, with the consequence of landing on these squares determined by reference to a random consequence chart. Players move game markers around the game board according to the throw of dice, and attempt to spell the key phrase, before spelling "ZONK" or going bankrupt.
