  • Patent number: 7832913
Abstract: A motor vehicle light comprising an equipped flexible electronic support that comprises: a flat flexible insulating support equipped on a first face with a plurality of flat conductive tracks; at least one light source of the light emitting diode type disposed on the first face of the flexible insulating support; wherein a second face of the flexible insulating support is covered with a layer of thermally conductive material for dissipating the heat produced by the light emitting diodes, the layer comprising an area of contact with the diode and an extended area extending out of this contact area, the dissipation of the heat taking place essentially at this extended area.

  • Patent number: 6474856
Abstract: A motor-vehicle headlight uses a gas-discharge lamp with a power-supply circuit, the lamp being mounted in a mirror. A screening device reduces interfering electromagnetic emissions. The power-supply circuit is in a housing to the rear of the lamp, and the screening device has a conducting material entirely surrounding the housing and able to provide electrical continuity between a screening braid of a power-supply cable arriving at the said housing and screening arrangements which are associated with the mirror. The invention also proposes a gas-discharge lamp incorporating such screening means.

  • Patent number: 6390657
Abstract: A motor vehicle headlight includes a reflector on which a lamp holder is fixed for mounting a discharge lamp, and a high tension connector adapted to be engaged on the lamp mounted in the lamp holder to ensure the electrical power supply of the said lamp. The invention provides that the reflector has an electrically conductive layer, that the lamp holder has a metallic portion fixed on the reflector in such a way as to be in electrical contact with the said layer, that the connector has a metallic screening envelope, and that the said portion of the lamp holder and/or the connector has at least one elastically deformable conductive tongue for providing electrical continuity between the said portion of the lamp holder and the connector during fitting of the said connector. Applicable to the electromagnetic compatibility of headlights with discharge lamps.

  • Patent number: 6341886
Abstract: A headlight for a motor vehicle is provided for generating a light beam, and particularly a dipped beam, of a given configuration. The headlight has a light source, a reflector of the elliptical type having a first focus in the vicinity of which the light source is situated, and a lens placed in front of the reflector. The reflector has at least two zones which are situated side by side and which are adapted to form, in a focal region of the lens, patches of light which are preformed in width, and overlap each other in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 6155702
Abstract: A motor vehicle headlamp comprises an ellipsoidal reflector with two focus regions, a light source in the region of the first focus and a convergent lens focused on the region of the second focus. At least one optical plate exposed to light emitted directly by the light source includes an optical processing arrangement which returns at least a part of the direct light into the illumination field of the headlamp. An intermediate framework part fixed to the reflector is provided between the reflector and the lens and the intermediate part includes an arrangement for fixing the optical plate. Applications include elliptical headlamps with an enlarged illuminating area.

  • Patent number: 5443323
Abstract: A device for mounting a mobile part of an automobile vehicle headlight on a relatively fixed part comprises a generally spherical head joined to a first part by means of a rod. A substantially complementary cavity is fastened to the second part. The head is forced fitted into the cavity through an opening into the latter. At least one flexible tongue is provided in the vicinity of the cavity and is adapted to deform elastically to enable insertion of the head therein and, after such insertion, to impede extraction of the head from the cavity. The cavity defines a stable position for the head in which the flexible tongue(s) are not in contact with the head. The device is used to adjust the reflectors relative to the headlight units.
