  • Patent number: 8240011
Abstract: A device for fastening interchangeable watchstraps with sliding lock mechanism, in particular for a watchcase, including a middle (1) and two pairs of horns (2), each horn being provided on its inner face with a skid (8) with one bevelled edge and a gap (10). Each watchstrap strand (3) includes a first link (4) on the lateral faces of which are found two grooves (5) adapted to the shape of the skids (8). Each groove contains a pin (6) connected to a head (7) and to a spring. The fastening takes place when the skids (8) engage in the grooves (5) of the first link (4) until locking of the pins (6) in the gaps (10). The watchstrap can be released by acting on the two heads (7) which retract the pins (6) from the gaps (10), making it possible to withdraw the watchstrap strand (3).

  • Patent number: 3999003
Abstract: A cable for telephone or other communication circuits comprises a number of conductor arrays, specifically pairs or quads of helically intertwined conductors, each conductor having a metal core coated with a thermoplastic sheath in which a multiplicity of short cellulose fibers are embedded; the fibers have an average length of about 1 mm and project generally radially from the sheath over the greater part of their length. The fibers of the twisted wires interpenetrate and form a mat in the intervening spaces which swells in the event of water penetration through a defective envelope, thereby limiting the propagation of moisture along the cable.

  • Patent number: 3942202
Abstract: An air-support mattress comprises an elastomeric plate having upper and lower faces flanking a central neutral surface. This plate is formed with a network of passages which lie between the lower face and the neutral plane and are adapted to be connected to a source of fluid under pressure. The plate is further formed with an array of vents each extending from the passage across the surface and terminating at respective mouths at the upper surface. A pair of lips in each of the vents meet tangentially between the neutral surface and the passage so as normally to block air flow through the vents. When the upper surface of the mattress is rendered concave, however, these lips pull apart so as to allow a stream of air to flow from the vents and exert a supporting force on a body part depressing the mattress.
