  • Publication number: 20070017715
Abstract: The present invention relates to a trailer bogie slider control system that utilizes trailer weight information from an electronic control brake system, anti-lock brake system, and/or anti-roll over electronic module. The trailer weight, which is obtained from suspension air bag pressure, is utilized by an operator to remotely engage and disengage the locking pins on a trailer bogie.

  • Publication number: 20060290200
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, monitoring movement of one or more components of a vehicle wheel/tire assembly is disclosed. The desired monitoring functions are performed by one or more acceleration-sensing devices, preferably, by one or more accelerometers.

  • Publication number: 20060244309
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical power and communication bus system for a truck, a tractor, or a tractor with a trailer and an associated bogie, where the electrical power and communication bus system reside in an anti-lock brake system (ABS) module that is disposed on the truck, the tractor, or the bogie of the trailer. The bus system comprises a bus controller, which utilizes a bus protocol, at least one bus connector that is electrically connected to a processor in the ABS, a source of power, and at least one auxiliary system that is electrically connected to the bus connector.

  • Publication number: 20060243037
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle brake system, which has a brake reservoir, and utilizes a tire management system that is in communication with the brake reservoir and a vehicle operator. As a result of this configuration, the tire management system communicates brake reservoir pressure signals to the vehicle operator, so-that the operator is made aware of any low pressure conditions, in the trailer, before trying to move the trailer.

  • Publication number: 20060230822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle wheel sensor apparatus and a method that determine if a vehicle wheel sensor is active or passive, while efficiently providing the necessary connectivity, power, and communication between the sensor and a controller, without requiring a change in controller hardware. For an active sensor, the apparatus provides power and receives speed signals, high frequency vibration or acceleration signals, or other analog signals. For a passive sensor, the apparatus receives speed signals.

  • Publication number: 20060231184
Abstract: A tire inflation system and wheel speed sensor system having a hollow shaft rotatable with a drive mechanism. The shaft extends into the hollow end of an axle. A angular velocity system rotates with the shaft within the hollow end of the axle. A sensor, mounted within the axle, senses the rotation of the angular velocity system. The hollow shaft is a conduit for air from an air source to at least one tire.

  • Patent number: 4700304
Abstract: A microcomputer based electronic control unit for an anti-skid braking system includes monitoring means for testing the correct operation of the anti-skid braking system, including the electronic control unit. The disabling means includes microcomputer resetting means which in the event of program execution falling out of synchronization resets the microcomputer. The monitoring means test whether or not the wheel speed sensors are short circuited or disconnected. The unit also includes a load dump protection function, an electromagnetic interference suppression circuit and a warning light drive which may additionally be used to output diagnostic information.
