Abstract: The invention is a device for the controlling or limiting of access to electronic networks, comprising a mechanical lock or other standard access control device (such as a numeric keypad, keylock switch, or biometric sensor), a switchable data connection, and an electronic means for detecting and reporting tampering attempts. Specifically, this method and apparatus is designed to be easy to understand and apply, and it inherently embodies simple but effective barriers to spoofing attempts.
