  • Patent number: 4889299
Abstract: A mounting fixture secures a duct to a generally channel-shaped support section having right angle flanges at the distal ends of its sidewalls. The duct mounting fixture includes a base plate having an outer side defining a bearing plane against which an endwall of a duct is adapted to bear. A well or bush receiving a preferably rotatable latch member is located in a middle zone of the base plate. The latch member is adapted to extend through an opening in the endwall of the duct and grip the endwall. At least two retaining teeth are disposed on the underside of said base plate for cooperation with the right angle flanges of a support section and at least one of the retaining teeth is carried by a resiliently deformable arm. The latch member is contiguous with base plate and permanently held along the axis of the well or bush.

  • Patent number: 4697774
Abstract: A fastening device for attaching an object to a support comprises two separate parts, consisting of a base member which incorporates means for fastening it to the support and a head member which incorporates means for fastening it to the object. The base member and the head member conjointly comprise complementary snap fastener means adapted to fasten them to one another. The device is particularly suited to attaching a wiring channel or conduit to a perforated plate, a chassis upright or an electrical equipment cabinet door.

  • Patent number: 4490887
Abstract: A cable tie comprises a strap having a series of transverse teeth on one side extending between the longitudinal edges thereof, and a fastening head having a passageway therethrough for receiving the strap to form a loop. The fastening head has a pawl cooperable with the strap teeth. The longitudinal edges of the strap are at least in part transversely oblique and each of the corresponding lateral walls of the passageway are similarly transversely oblique. The transversely oblique edge portions on the strap converge to the side of the strap away from the side having the teeth so that the pawl produces a wedging effect to clamp the strap transversely between the lateral wall portions of the passageway. Also, the lateral wall portions of the passageway converge toward each other in a direction away from the pawl. The oblique portions are preferably surface roughened.

  • Patent number: 4478478
Abstract: A piece of electrical apparatus, such as a junction box, having a body of insulating material has at least one sleeve to receive and position the screw of a connecting terminal and, projecting into the sleeve, at least one resiliently deformable protuberance, to retain the screw and prevent it from dropping out, the protuberance being formed by means of a thinned down zone of the wall of the sleeve. Further retaining means may be provided comprising one or more ribs projecting into the sleeve and extending longitudinally of the sleeve for a part of the length of the sleeve at the inner end of the sleeve.
