  • Patent number: 11496949
Abstract: A system and method for enhanced cell detection by a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The UE includes a transceiver configured to receive a discovery reference signal (DRS) occasion from at least one transmission point. The DRS occasion comprising a set of consecutive DRS sub-frames. The UE also includes processing circuitry configured to: in response to detecting a physical cell identity (PCID) of a Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS)/Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS)/Cell-Specific Reference Signal (CRS) that is the same as a reference PCID for a configured Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) resource, the processing circuitry attempts to detect or measure the CSI-RS using the timing obtained from the PSS/SSS/CRS; and in response to not detecting a PCID of PSS/SSS/CRS that is the same as the reference PCID for a configured CSI-RS resource (TP), the processing circuitry does not attempt to detect or measure the CSI-RS.

  • Patent number: 11139862
Abstract: A method and an apparatus indicate and identify a ZP-CSI-RS configuration. The method for identifying includes identifying a DCI format and the ZP-CSI-RS configuration in response to receiving one or more control messages where a first set of ZP-CSI-RS configuration or configurations are configured to be used for DCI Format 1A and a second set of ZP-CSI-RS configuration or configurations are configured to be used for DCI Format 2D or 2C. The method also includes identifying a PDSCH rate matching based on the identified ZP-CSI-RS configuration. The method for indicating includes transmitting a dynamic signaling control message comprising an indication of a DCI format. The method also includes transmitting transmit a higher layer signaling control message comprising an indication of the ZP-CSI-RS configuration or configurations.

  • Patent number: 10986678
Abstract: A Device to Device (D2D) user equipment (UE) is configured to support synchronization in a D2D network. The D2D UE includes an antenna configured to communicate via a D2D communication. The D2D UE also includes processing circuitry configured to enter a communication Mode 2 when certain conditions are met. The certain conditions include: when a first timer (T310) for detecting radio link failure is running, a second timer (T311) for initiating the connection reestablishment is running, or a third timer (T301) for requesting connection reestablishment is running. In communication Mode 2, the D2D UE, on its own, selects resources from resource pool(s) to transmit D2D data and D2D control information. The processing circuitry further configured to exit the communication Mode 2 and enter a communication Mode 1 when the certain condition is no longer met. In communication Mode 1, the D2D UE uses resources configured by another station.
