  • Patent number: 4408998
Abstract: A process for preparing thermally stable ammonium nitrate-containing granules having high bulk density, high impact resistance, high crushing resistance and little or no tendency to cake by spraying a composition containing at most 5% by weight water, about 0.5% to 5% by weight of a insoluble and chemically inert silica-containing material, ammonium nitrate, and other components into a fluidized bed of ammonium nitrate seed particles thereby forming granules and recovering the thus formed ammonium nitrate-containing granulated product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1982
Date of Patent: October 11, 1983
    Assignee: Unie Van Kunstmestfabrieken BV
Inventors: Stanislaus M. P. Mutsers, Cornelis Hoek, Gerardus M. C. Wagemans
  • Patent number: 4409016
Abstract: A process for preparing thermally stable ammonium nitrate-containing granules having high bulk density, high impact resistance, high crushing resistance, and little or no tendency to cake by spraying a liquid composition containing at most 15% by weight water, a stabilization agent, ammonium nitrate and other components into a fluidized bed of ammonium nitrate seed particles thereby forming granules and recovering the thus formed ammonium nitrate-containing granulated product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1982
Date of Patent: October 11, 1983
    Assignee: Unie Van Kunstmestfabrieken, B.V.
Inventors: Stanislaus M. P. Mutsers, Cornelis Hoek, Gerardus M. C. Wagemans
  • Patent number: 4122153
Abstract: An improved process is described for the reduction of ammonium ions, while avoiding any increase in nitrate ion concentration, in a liquid stream recycled between a zone of synthesis of hydroxyl ammonium salt and a zone for synthesis of oxime, wherein the liquid stream is contacted with a gas stream consisting essentially of nitrogen monoxide and containing nitrogen dioxide at a pressure above 1 atmosphere, at a temperature of at least 80.degree. C., such that after the contact the molar NO.sub.2 /NO ratio of the gas stream is within the range of between about 10.sup.-1 to 10.sup.-4 :1.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 1977
Date of Patent: October 24, 1978
    Assignee: Stamicarbon, B.V.
Inventors: Nicolaas F. Haasen, Cornelis G. M. Van de Moesdijk, Gerardus M. C. Wagemans
