Abstract: By using 2,4-bis[[4-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-2-hydroxy]phenyl]-6-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine, the photostability of dibenzoylmethane derivatives is substantially improved and, indirectly, stabilisation of cinnamic acid esters is also effected, by which means there are made possible photostable cosmetic compositions for protection against UV radiation which have a high sun protection factor and a high absorbance in both the UVA and UVB range.

Abstract: Basic pellets containing erythromycin base, to which a small amount of a slightly acid salt, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate and possibly an additive is added for improved release of the active substance in the intestinal tract, are provided with a coating that contains a polymer resistant to gastric juice, such as poly(methacrylic acid, -ethylacrylate), a separating agent, such as talc, and a softening agent, such as diethyl phthalate.

Abstract: Rapid-release S(+)-ibuprofen pellets are proposed whose bioavailability is comparable to that of commercially available racemate formulations. The rapid release of the active substance is promoted by using small amounts of basic inorganic salts, preferably sodium carbonate, or dilute alkali metal hydroxide solutions. Pellets with an active substance content of 90-99% by weight are obtainable in this way. The pellets are suitable for the application of coatings. Pellets with a protective coating can be compressed directly to tablets in this form and with small amounts of suitable tableting adjuncts. The use of the pharmacologically active S(+)-ibuprofen and of the small amounts of adjuncts required makes it possible to prepare compact pharmaceutical forms.

Abstract: The compact, solid drug preparation, which contains N-acetylcysteine and/or S-(carboxymethyl)-L-cysteine, is suitable, despite small amounts of inactive ingredients, both for swallowing and for sucking or dissolving in water or an aqueous solution. The compactness of the drug preparation is guaranteed by a high proportion of active ingredients--more than 50% of the total weight--and by a suitable choice of a tableting adjuvant.

Abstract: The present invention is concerned with novel synthetic capsules which are colloid soluble in water or suspendible or colloid soluble in hydrophobic media and consist of compatible polymeric material, more especially of acrylamide and N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide gel or of acrylic acid and acrylic acid methyl ester gel, which are submicroscopic and mainly micellar in size, and which contain biologically or pharmacodynamically active material, more especially proteins, antigens, pharmacologically or therapeutically active substances or pesticides, fertilizers, dyes, color forming agents, adhesives and catalysts or other technically active substances in an incorporated and/or adsorbed form, together with the method for their production and their application.
