  • Patent number: 6107055
Abstract: Method and apparatus for carrying out biochemical reactions in particular for cell-free polypeptide biosynthesis. A bioreactor has, within a housing, a reaction chamber containing a producing system as well as a supply chamber separated from the reaction chamber by means of a semi-permeable membrane and containing a liquid serving as supply medium for the producing system. The supply chamber is subdivided within the bioreactor into a first partial chamber and a second partial chamber which are each connected to the reaction chamber via a semi-permeable supply membrane and which are connected to each other by means of a connection conduit.

  • Patent number: 4929543
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the determination of an antibody in human body fluids according to the immunoassay principle in which a sample containing the antibody to be determined is incubated with at least two different receptors R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, of which one receptor R.sub.1 carries an antigenic determinant specific for the antibody to be determined and one receptor R.sub.2 carries a label to form bound and unbound label, the part which contains the bound label is separated from the part which contains the unbound label and the label is measured in one of the two parts, wherein, for the control, instead of the sample, there is used a standard solution which contains a conjugate of a bindable non-human antibody or a Fab or F(ab').sub.2 fragment thereof which non-human component binds with a receptor R.sub.s which also binds to the antibody to be determined, and a human immunoglobulin or the Fc part thereof.

  • Patent number: 4843001
Abstract: This invention teaches a process for preparing a conjugate useful in enzyme immunoassays, and the conjugate produced by the process. The process involves oxidizing an enzyme containing a carbohydrate portion, such as peroxidase, with periodic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof in an aqueous medium followed by reduction with sodium borohydride. The oxidation and reduction step may be carried out either before or after the enzyme is coupled to the immunologically effective component of the conjugate.

  • Patent number: 4757016
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for stabilizing the activity of peroxidase in solution by the addition of a specific activity stabilizer, wherein, to the enzyme present in solid or dissolved form, when the peroxidase is used as a conjugate with an immunologically effective substance, there is added, as activity stabilizer, aminopyrine in an amount of from 0.0005 to 2% by weight, referred to the solution.

  • Patent number: 4732848
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the determination of an immunologically-bindable substance by immunochemical methods in heterogeneous phase, wherein(a) a sample solution containing the substance to be determined is incubated with(b) a solid phase-bound antibody against the bindable substance to be determined(c) a conjugate of the bindable substance to be determined and a Fab fragment of an antibody directed against a determinable enzyme in a definite amount and(d) the enzyme which corresponds to the antibody contained in the conjugate (c),the phases are separated and the enzyme activity is measured in one of the two phases.

  • Patent number: 4467030
Abstract: A method for the determination of the thyroxine-binding index in serum, which method comprises mixing the serum sample to be determined with a defined amount of thyroxine and a defined amount of a determinable enzyme covalently bound to thyroxine, contacting the resulting solution with anti-thyroxine antibodies present in the solid phase, separating the liquid phase from the solid phase, and measuring the activity of said determinable enzyme in one of the phases as a measure of the tyroxine-binding index in said serum sample.
