  • Patent number: 6817056
Abstract: In a windshield wiper drive mechanism, having a pivotably supported drive shaft, a drive rocker (10) solidly connected to it, a coupling rocker (14) that is connected to the drive rocker by a drive joint (16), a support rocker (18) that is connected to the coupling rocker (14) by a support joint (20) and is supported by a blind joint (22), a windshield wiper arm (26), which is connected to the coupling rocker by a joint (28), a contact-pressure spring (30) that acts upon the windshield wiper arm relative to the coupling rocker, and a compensation joint (24) that is disposed on one of the rockers, the object is for the tilting moments generated by the contact-pressure spring to be reduced. To that end, a compensation spring (34) is provided on the compensation joint.

  • Patent number: 6634054
Abstract: In the case of a windshield wiper drive having a swivelably mounted drive shaft, a drive rocker arm that is immovably attached thereto, a connecting lever which is attached to the drive rocker arm via a first joint, a support rocker arm which is connected to the connecting lever via a second joint and mounted via a joint, and a windshield wiper arm which is connected to the connecting lever, an object is to prevent distortion in the drive, while keeping production expenditures to a minimum. To accomplish this, one of the two joints of the connecting lever is swivelable in a plane that is defined by the axis of rotation of the accompanying rocker arm and by the corresponding joint, and the other joint is fixed in a plane that is defined by the axis of rotation of the accompanying rocker arm and by the joint.

  • Patent number: 6560814
Abstract: In a windshield wiper arm with a first component arm (10), a second component arm (12) and a hinge which joins the first and the second component arm to one another with a folding capacity so that the two component arms can be swivelled relative to one another out of an initial position into a pivoted-up position, the pivoted-up position will be precisely defined. For this purpose it is provided that the first component arm is provided with at least one catch (18) and the second component arm is provided with at least one projection (20) which are arranged such that they can make contact with one another in order to prevent swivelling of the two component arms beyond the pivoted-up position.

  • Patent number: 6530710
Abstract: The invention is based on a hinge (10) for connecting three levers (12, 14, 16) of a lever mechanism, having a first bearing shell (18) to which a first lever (12) is secured, and in which a second bearing shell (20) is rotatably supported, on which latter bearing shell a second lever (14) is secured. It is proposed that the second bearing shell (20) has two sectors (22, 24), of which a first sector (22) is solidly connected to the second lever (14), and a second sector (24) is solidly connected to a third lever (16), the sectors (22, 24) allowing a limited pivoting motion counter to one another about the common center point (28).

  • Patent number: 6422102
Abstract: A wiper drive (10, 12, 14) with a reversible geared motor (16) is fastened to a motor mounting plate (18). The driven shaft (22) of the wiper drive supports a crank (28, 30, 32), which is connected by means of at least one joint (34, 36, 38, 40) to a leaver (68, 70) of a lever mechanism. The crank is a crank plate (28, 30, 32) on which at least two adjacent joints (34, 36) for two levers (68, 70) are disposed adjacent to each other in a plane.

  • Patent number: 4920602
Abstract: The washer apparatus for washing the window of a motor vehicle comprises a wiper blade oscillating over the window sitting on a hollow shaft, which is provided with at least one nozzle directed at the window to be washed. A washer fluid feed occurs to the nozzle through a structural element in a shaft passage of the hollow shaft, whose one downstream end portion is rigidly attached with the hollow shaft. A particularly trouble-free and economical washer apparatus can be attained when the other upstream end portion of the structural element is held fixed behind an upstream opening of the shaft passage and the structural element is at least partially made from a pliable material.
