  • Patent number: 5302029
Abstract: A flexible storage container for the transportation of liquid foods, such as orange juice, includes an outer tear resistant shell having a linear closure in a front or end face thereof, and a replaceable inner liner which is inserted into the outer shell through the closure. The outer shell further includes a vent through which air can escape from the space between the inner liner and outer shell. The inner liner includes a filler fitting which is fed through the outer shell. The container is characterized in that it is elongated in shape and has a front or end face that bulges to conform to filling pressure. The front or end face is reinforced by a flexible bar that extend essentially perpendicular to the base. The container is further characterized in that the closure, and fittings for filling, emptying and venting are located in the front or end face.

  • Patent number: 4676553
Abstract: A chair and a method of constructing same are provided. The chair includes two rear frame members manufactured from tubing having a rhomboidal cross-section. Appropriate placement of two bends in the tubing forms frame members which readily control an angle between a back of the chair and rear legs of the chair. The chair back has a ventilation space therein for comfort. The front legs of the chair are also rhomboidal and the rhomboidal sections of the front and rear legs are rotationally oriented generally at right angles to one another, for rigidity.

  • Patent number: 4639042
Abstract: A chair back arrangement is provided for use on stackable chairs utilized in convention centers, assembly halls, banquet halls and the like. The chair back includes a large ventilation space centrally located in a upper back portion of the chair. Preferably, the ventilation space is provided by utilizing two, independently mounted, laterally spaced back panels to form the chair back. In the preferred embodiment, each chair back panel is generally trapezoidally shaped and is supported on three sides by an appropriately bent tubular member. The chair back comprises two such tubular members which are integral with rear legs of the chair. It is shown that appropriate tubular material can be selected to provide a preferred flexing of the chair back panels.

  • Patent number: 4616571
Abstract: The invention discloses a panel section interconnecting member adapted to be used in the construction of shelf structures or shelf-like furniture. It comprises a generally rectangular base plate member of essentially flat configuration, one surface thereof comprising four generally tetrahedrally shaped supporting members protruding therefrom. First side walls of the supporting members are arranged essentially parallel and with a certain distance to second side walls of an adjacent supporting member, defining therebetween receiving channels adapted to receive horizontal and vertical panel members of a shelf structure to be erected. The so-formed channels thereby have an essentially cross-like configuration and the base plate comprises a central opening provided in the center of said cross for receiving a mounting screw or the like mounting member to mount the interconnecting member to a wall.

  • Patent number: 4557521
Abstract: In this chair a rounded spring element (128) formed with substantially U-shaped cross-section is provided which comprises parallel legs and with which a seat area (130) and/or a back (142) can be integrated. The spring element consists of plastic and is made single-walled in the curvature region, then dividing in the direction of the seat area and the back into a double-walled form. For reinforcement, ribs (148) may also be provided. At the lower side of the seat area and the double-walled portion of the spring region (128) an integrated socket for a support frame is formed. On the seat area (130) a cushion (174) may be secured with the aid of a stirrup member (136) driven into sockets (140) and comprising wood or steel tube or integral foam. The back consists for example of a cushion support (142) to which a cushion (144) is secured via a stirrup member (146) driven into sockets (152) on the spring region. It is possible to make the spring region (128), seat area ( 130) and back (142) from uniform material.

  • Patent number: 4213594
Abstract: A spring loaded vehicle seat is of the kind having a seat frame and an underframe supports this seat frame by levers and a pneumatic spring so that the seat is maintained at a constant height. Valves control the flow of air to and from the spring to counteract the effect of vibrations. A switch mechanism controls the operation of the valves and a coupling device transmits vibrations of the seat to the mechanism. The coupling device is arranged so that movement of the mechanism after opening a valve lags behind the vibration of the seat.
