Abstract: The device for drying or heating and cooling bulk material in accordance with the invention consists of a rotatable drum comprising means for receiving the bulk material in a first region and means for discharging the bulk material from a second region, wherein a central region is arranged between the first and second regions, said central region consisting of an annular structure with a first and a second diaphragm with central diaphragm apertures each, which form substantially two diaphragm planes parallel to each other, and comprise a plurality of transport channels closed toward the central region for transporting the bulk material from the first region to the second region of the rotatable drum through the central region, wherein the transport channels extend from the first to the second diaphragms at a non-90° angle relative to the two diaphragm planes.

Abstract: A four-part spindle brake has a support body and cover insertable through an opening in a wall of a spindle rail of a spinning machine and receiving between them a brake body whose two levers are joined centrally by film hinges and are formed as outwardly and downwardly-extending pins received in bearing bosses of the cover and the support body. An actuating plate suspended by horizontal pivot pins on the support body has a spreader engageable between the levers for causing the jaws of the brake body to close upon the spindle.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus used in a spinning machine wherein a row of grabs having seats can be engaged over tubes in respective spinning stations to remove the tubes from and insert the tubes into the respective stations has at least one nozzle directable into the seats of the grabs and a system for supplying air under pressure to the nozzle and thereby forming at the nozzle a jet that blows lint and the like from the seat into which the nozzle is directed.

Abstract: An apparatus for grasping spun yarn carriers in spinning machines or twisting machines is enabled to clamp spun yarn carriers of different nominal diameter ranges by the provision of a stationary clamping element formed by a common holder and a set of detachable interchangeable clamping elements selectively mountable to and demountable from the holder. Each of the interchangeable clamping elements is associated with a specific predetermined nominal diameter range of spun yarn carriers.
