  • Patent number: 7327695
Abstract: A method of configuring link-scope-type managed objects in IP-based networks from a centralized management node. An IP-based network includes at least one management station, a set of network nodes, and communication links between the network nodes and between the management station and the network nodes. Preferably, an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) topology graph of the network is prepared, and a set of target links to be configured is identified. The target links are then classified into N disjoint subsets, T1-TN. The links in each subset are then configured in parallel, starting with subset T1 and sequentially handling each subset one-by-one. The target links may be classified by removing non-target links that are not to be configured from the OSPF topology graph, building a LinkGraph to determine the dependencies between the links remaining in the OSPF topology graph, and building a LinkTree from the LinkGraph to classify the target links into the subsets based upon the dependencies between the links.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2003
Date of Patent: February 5, 2008
    Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)

  • Publication number: 20050125516
Abstract: This method for managing configuration of a network in a management center, said network having a plurality of target objects, comprises: elaborating a model of the network to be managed; identifying (32) a plurality of target objects to be configured in the network; validating (32) the changes to be made upon configuration of the plurality of target objects; and, if all changes are validated: finding (34) a sequence of target routers that provides continuous connectivity to said management center; and configuring (36) each of said target routers. Application to large-scale IP networks.

  • Publication number: 20050120135
Abstract: In this method for configuring a router in a telecommunications network, the router having a configuration file, after turning the router an and selecting a default interface, the router automatically performs steps comprising, a) a connection step (50, 52, 54, 56), for establishing a logic connection with a predetermined neighbour router; b) an information gathering step (58), for obtaining anformation about the configuration file; and c) a data downloading step (59), for downloading the configuration file. Application to routers in IP based mobile access networks.
