  • Publication number: 20070274832
Abstract: A rotor for a turbo machine, in particular for a gas turbine, is disclosed. The rotor includes a rotor base body and several rotor blades arranged over the circumference of the rotor base body, in which case the rotor base body is manufactured of an MMC composite material, and in which case the rotor blades are an integral part of the rotor. The rotor base body is configured in the shape of a ring, in which case the ring-shaped rotor base body includes, in a radially internal section, at least one groove-like recess which is filled radially on the inside with fibers exhibiting tensile strength.

  • Publication number: 20070202000
Abstract: A method for manufacturing components, preferably of a gas turbine, by powder injection molding is disclosed. In powder injection molding, first a metal powder is combined with a binder to form a homogeneous mass, and then at least one molded article is manufactured from the homogeneous mass by injection molding and the molded body or each molded body is then subjected to a debinding process. The molded body or each molded body is compacted by sintering to yield at least one component having the desired geometric properties. Several molded articles are joined together by a diffusion process during sintering to manufacture a component. The molded articles to be joined together are preferably brought into surface contact, especially into form-fitting surface contact, at least during sintering on sections that are to be joined together. A pressure is applied to the molded articles to be joined together during sintering.

  • Patent number: 7005598
Abstract: A process for is producing a fiber-reinforced semifinished product in the form of metal strips, metal sheets etc., from at least one layer of fibers which includes a number of long to endless reinforcing fibers spaced apart from one another and arranged in parallel and a metal. A metal jacket applied to the reinforcing fiber by a PVD process (physical vapor deposition) may act for example as the metal. At least certain regions of the metal and the reinforcing fibers run through a welding process in which a bonding takes place by planar melting of the metal to form a matrix surrounding the reinforcing fibers.

  • Patent number: 5001088
Abstract: A porous form body is produced of sinterable SiC-powder by forming a suitable suspension of said SiC-powder and then treating the suspension to convert it into droplets and the droplets into a granular material in which the granules are substantially larger than the particles of SiC-powder. The granular material is then formed into a green body, e.g. by spraying the granules onto a negative mold of the form body or slip-casting or the like. The green body is then sintered whereby the resulting porosity in the final form body provides the form body with low drag.

  • Patent number: 4894086
Abstract: A method of producing dispersion hardened metal alloys which incorporate highly reactive metals or their alloys whose oxides are not adapted to be easily reduced. According to the method, the highly reactive metals of their alloys are added as powder particles to a solution of a salt of a reducible metal which is to form a metallic matrix in which the reactive metals or their alloys are to be integrated, after which the solution is atomized to form particles from which the solvent is removed to yield the final product of the metal matrix with the highly reactive metals or their alloys integrated therein as a second phase.

  • Patent number: 4886639
Abstract: Structural component made of powder metallurgical materials, particularly temperature resistant alloys, nickel base alloys, are produced by injection molding or pressing. The sintering is divided into individual work steps for producing dense and smooth structural components which are true to shape.

  • Patent number: 4728359
Abstract: A method of producing a dispersion-hardened metal alloy in which oxide particles are distributed uniformly in the metal matrix. The oxide particles, in finely divided form, are added to a solution of the metal along with a deglomerating agent so as to be dispersed in the solution as a colloid. The colloid suspension is then atomized and reduced to form a powder of the alloy with the oxide particles uniformly dispersed therein.
