  • Patent number: 5522611
Abstract: A multiple sprocket chainwheel for bicycle derailleurs to drive a hub bushing on the rear wheel by means of at least two sprockets which have different numbers of teeth, and which are located non-rotationally on a chainwheel bushing, whereby spacing connecting rings with bearings and a drive bushing are located between the sprockets, which drive bushing is driven in the driving direction by the chainwheel bushing by means of a freewheel mechanism, whereby the connecting rings have clamping projections which can be inserted into clamping points on the sprockets, which makes possible it possible to have an alternating arrangement in series of a sprocket, a connecting ring, a sprocket, a connecting ring etc. The desired position of one sprocket in relation to another is achieved when a guide tooth on the inside diameter of the one sprocket coincides with the guide tooth on another sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4862395
Abstract: The data display instrument for a bicycle comprises an LCD field having an analog scale field to display the momentary travelling speed and an analog scale field to display the pedalling speed. The scale fields are automatically switchable to two measuring ranges. Furthermore, two digital numerical fields are provided in which a multiplicity of information concerning the riding situation can be displayed in dependence on the travelling speed. In addition to the momentary speed and the momentary pedalling speed which are displayed in the scale fields, the digital fields will during travel display the distance travelled since a last reset and the average speed. Immediately after the bicycle comes to a standstill, the digital fields will indicate the travelling time since the last reset and the maximum speed. After a predetermined period of time has elapsed during which the bicycle continues to remain immobile, the digital fields will indicate the total distance travelled and the wheel diameter.

  • Patent number: 4835468
Abstract: An electronic instrument is mounted on a handlebar of a bicycle. An instrument carrier is fastened to the handlebar. The instrument itself is engageable with the instrument carrier for holding engagement. A signal receiver is fastened to one leg of a fork which carries a bicycle wheel. The receiver is opposite the bicycle wheel. A signal inducer is mounted on a spoke of the bicycle wheel. The signal inducer generates signals within the signal receiver. These signals are supplied from the signal receiver by a cable to the instrument carrier. The instrument carrier is provided with contacts. Complementary contacts are provided on the instrument. When the instrument is engaged with the instrument carrier the electrical contacts of the instrument carrier and of the instrument come in mutual electrical engagement. At least one of the contacts is provided on a silicon rubber block which is elastically deformable when the contacts of the instrument carrier and the instrument are brought in electric connection.

  • Patent number: 4832332
Abstract: A digital indicating instrument for a physical training device, in particular a rowing device, includes a sensor fixed rigidly to a basic frame of the training device and sensor trip element fixed to an operating part, in particular to a sliding seat of the rowing device. An evaluation circuit responds to control pulses generated by the sensor during the passing movement of the trip element and determines together with the training time output-related data, which are displayed on a display screen. A training time measuring device is started by control pulses of the sensor for an automatic determination of the training time. A stop device stops the training time measuring device if within a preset time interval no control pulse is generated by the sensor. A suppressor suppresses at the start of training at least the first control pulse, in order to prevent unintentional starting of the training time measuring device.

  • Patent number: 4731306
Abstract: A battery arrangement is used with a distance and speed measuring indicator for cycles. Two batteries can be accommodated and electrically connected in a battery chamber, so that in battery replacement the old battery can remain in the battery chamber and in electric connection with its contact terminals until the new battery is inserted into the battery chamber and is in electric connection with the contact terminals. In this way; during battery replacement, the loss of the data stored in the memory of the appliance is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4713567
Abstract: An electromagnetic brake device for a sports training apparatus, especially an ergometer, includes a stator, and a rotor rotatable in relation to the stator about a rotation axis. The stator and the rotor each have multi-pole iron circuits which together form a magnetic flux circuit, one of the iron circuits having magnetic remanence properties. With the iron circuits, there are associated windings of which the winding allocated to the magnetically remanent iron circuit is formed as field winding and the other winding is formed as generator winding. The field winding is connected through a slip ring arrangement with the generator winding. With the iron circuit of the generator winding, there is associated a short-circuit winding. The size amplitude of the current fed to the field winding from the generator winding is adjustable by a control circuit. In this way, the electromagnetic brake moment of the brake device can be adjusted without wear.

  • Patent number: 4519227
Abstract: The central locking installation for motor vehicle door locks blocks the locking element of the door lock by means of an additional, separately controllable blocking member. The locking element and the blocking member are driven by separate electrical drives which are connected into mutually parallel-connected current paths of one common drive current circuit. The drive direction of the two drives is controlled by common switches of a pole-changing circuit which reverses the current direction. Into the current path of the drives of the blocking member there is connected a control switch by way of which these drives can be switched on selectively. In the unlocking direction and the unblocking or releasing direction a time control system controllable by means of the door key in the unlocking of the door switches on the drives of the locking element and of the blocking member simultaneously. In the locking of the door lock only the drive of the locking element is switched on in its locking direction.

  • Patent number: 4461501
Abstract: In a locking system particularly suitable for a motor vehicle for use with unidirectional electrical motors, there is interposed between motors of the system and locking elements individually driven by said motors, a driving mechanism including a driven member coupled with each of the locking elements, an eccentric drive element engaging said driven member to move the locking elements between locking and unlocking positions, and elastic means interposed between the driven member and the eccentric drive element to permit the motors to continue to rotate the eccentric drive element when movement of any one of the locking elements is obstructed.

  • Patent number: 4424548
Abstract: A central locking system particularly suitable for use in a motor vehicle to lock or open, at one time, all the vehicle doors from any one of a number of locations, includes at least one lock bolt mechanism which provides movement in a selected one of a locking and a release direction to locking elements at the vehicle doors. At least one control switch which may be located at the door on the driver's side of the vehicle is selectively actuable to one of first and second switch positions, and is arranged together with a pulse drive circuit including a capacitor to provide a first drive pulse to the lock bolt mechanism when the control switch is in the first switch position. The first drive pulse causes the lock bolt mechanism to move the locking elements at the vehicle doors in one of the locking and release directions, and is produced by the capacitor in response to a charging current supplied to the capacitor by a charging current circuit.
