  • Patent number: 6060531
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of polyurethane foams by reactinga) at least one organic polyisocyanate withb) at least one polyalkylene-polyol (b1) having a hydroxyl number of from 30 to 500, obtainable by alkoxylation of at least one initiator molecule from the group consisting of N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylenediamine, tripropylenetetramine and tetrapropylenepentamine using at least one alkylene oxide, preferably ethylene oxide and/or 1,2-propylene oxide, or mixtures of the polyoxyalkylene polyols (b1) and other polyhydroxyl compounds having a functionality of from 2 to 8 and a hydroxyl number of from 15 to 500, andc) if desired, chain extenders and/or crosslinking agents,in the presence ofd) blowing agents and, if desired,e) catalysts andf) additives, and to the novel polyoxyalkylene-polyols (b1) which can be used for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 5908894
Abstract: Thermoplastic polyurethanes are prepared by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) compounds reactive toward isocyanates, in the presence or absence of (c) chain extenders, (d) catalysts and (e) customary auxiliaries and additives and adding crosslinked polyurethanes in comminuted form before, during and/or after the reaction.

  • Patent number: 5760099
Abstract: Rigid polyurethane foams, preferably semirigid polyurethane foams, are produced by reacting an organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with relatively high molecular weight polyhydroxyl compounds and, optionally, low molecular weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of water or mixtures of water and physically acting blowing agents, optionally, catalysts, at least one additive selected from the group consisting of sulfonate salts of an acid group-containing alkylene oxide polymer, a phosphonate salt of an acid group-containing alkylene oxide polymer, and mixtures thereof, additional other additives and optionally, auxiliaries. The polyurethane foams produced by this process can be used to produce composite comprising at least one covering layer and at least one layer comprising a rigid or semirigid polyurethane foam produced by the process of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5484827
Abstract: The invention provides UV-stabilizer concentrates, which, relative to the total weight, consist ofA) 40 to 80 weight-% of at least one thermoplastic polyurethaneB) 10 to 30 weight-% 1,3,5-tri-glycidyl-isocyanurate andC) 10 to 30 weight-% 2-(2-hydroxy-3,5,-di-tert-amyl-phenyl)-2H-benzotriazole and/or 1,6-hexane-di-yl-bis-(3-(3-benzotriazole-N-yl)-4-hydroxy-5-tert-butyl)-phe nyl-propanoate.The invention also discloses a process for their production, and their utilization to stabilize TPU against UV- and thermal-degradation.

  • Patent number: 5218058
Abstract: The present invention deals with flexible elastic polyurethane films, efficaciously having a thickness from 0.3 to 3 mm, prepared by sintering powdered thermoplastic polyurethanes, having:(a) a melt index of from 50 to 350, measured at 190.degree. C. with a compression force of 21.6 kg, and(b) a Shore A hardness of from 80 to 98, preferably while using from 0.05 to 1 part by weight of powdered aluminum oxide and/or silica gel per 100 parts by weight of said thermoplastic polyurethane, utilizing a heated mold. The polyurethane films are preferably used for coating molded articles used in the interior of motor vehicles.
