  • Publication number: 20090044122
Abstract: A method to process digital audio data displays the digital audio data in one or more tracks along a time line in a graphical interface of a computer system and defines arrange regions within the time line of the digital audio data as objects for manipulation. Tracks within a selected arrange region are processed as an entity in accordance with commands received through the graphical user interface.

  • Publication number: 20090044119
Abstract: A program product, a graphical user interface, a computer system including such a graphical user interface and method for replacing a first version of an audio and/or video section having a first length by selecting a second version of an audio and/or video section having a second length are described. Such a method comprises selecting the first version having the first length, displaying a first indication showing that the first version is selected, opening a menu associated with the first version offering at least the second version as an alternative to replace the first version, selecting the second version in the menu to replace the first version and displaying a second indication showing that the second version is selected. The second indication replaces the first indication. Some implementations may facilitate replacing one section or piece of audio or video data by another.

  • Patent number: 7465868
Abstract: Embodiments of an electronic, frameless, musical keyboard with the ability to couple to other frameless musical keyboards are described. In one embodiment, a first musical keyboard section includes an arrangement of black and white keys, similar to a layout of a piano keyboard, disposed over a base. The keys at the left and/or right sides of the keyboard section have exposed sides, so that a second keyboard section can be integrated with the first keyboard section to give the appearance of a single keyboard. To integrate the first keyboard section with the second keyboard section, the base of the first keyboard section extends past the right-most key to a width and length that is substantially equal to the dimensions of a left-most key from the second keyboard section. The left-most key can then be laid to rest over the extended base portion. The reserved space formed by the base of the first keyboard section having dimensions of a key (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7442870
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for representing, storing, and rendering audio data. An audio file enables users to store and exchange sampled audio waveform data along with additional data used to generate or synthesize an audio output closely approximating the original waveform data. The audio file used to generate a piece of music may include note events, synthesis parameters, instruments and track information, and other information for shaping music notes, as well as playback characteristics for emulating a desired ambiance. A rendering apparatus may implement a process for selecting the representation of audio data most likely to provide the best fidelity for the given playback circumstances. The combined audio format also provides a greater degree of compatibility for audio players with different playback capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20080091286
Abstract: A digital processing stage-box that may be placed on stage to process audio input from on-stage audio input devices and generate output to audio output devices for playback to an audience. The on-stage audio input and output devices may be connected to the digital processing stage-box using an analog or network cable connection. The digital processing stage-box is controlled from a remote control device preferably connected to the digital processing stage-box via a wireless network connection. This arrangement allows the electronics needed to process audio input and output to be placed on or close to a stage.

  • Patent number: 7250566
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for evaluating and correcting rhythm of audio data. Embodiments of the invention are capable of obtaining preferred rhythm in audio data, and strategically correcting the portions of audio data resulting an enhancing rhythm. A system embodying the invention may detect each transient in audio data, compute an ideal time for the transient and determine the time deviation from the expected ideal time. The system may correct for the time of the transient by altering the audio data before or after the transient. The system utilizes one or more methods to correct for the timing while preserving the audio quality of the signal.

  • Publication number: 20070165105
Abstract: A technique is provided for recording and manipulating a multimedia conferencece. For example, an audio and/or video conference is conducted via computer and the audio data from a set of one or more participants in an audio conference is received and recorded and stored, and the audio data for each participant is recorded onto a separate track of a file.

  • Patent number: 7166795
Abstract: An electronic keyboard simulates the keyboard action of one or more acoustic pianos and/or organs. Sensors associated with each key capture the force exerted on the key, the speed of the key and the position of the key to compute an amount of force to apply in feedback to the depressed key. An actuator associated with each key provides the computed feedback value as a counter-force to the player's finger pressure. Feedback may be computed in one or more processors by applying the sensor readings to a system model of the desired instruments mechanical key action. Also, feedback may be determined through a lookup table containing feedback values defining a particular instrument's action. The player can switch between different instrument action definitions as desired, and may tune certain parameters to achieve a customized action.

  • Publication number: 20050288805
Abstract: An audio system communicates with an aggregate device that includes multiple audio devices. When providing audio data for playback, the system compensates for presentation latency differences between the various audio devices. In addition, the system adjusts for device clock drift by selecting a master device and resampling the audio data provided to the other devices based on the difference between the device clock of the master device and the device clocks of the other devices.

  • Publication number: 20040125122
Abstract: Audio and/or video signals are often defined by various components. In an audio signal, such components may comprise different instruments or sound generations or frequency ranges. Manipulation of the signals involves varying one component in relation to the other components. When using a GUI, each component may be displayed on a separate axis. This results in a plurality of axes.
