  • Patent number: 6647239
Abstract: A printer or copier and method for its operation includes two printing units in the paper path. The paper path is formed into two adjoining loops or rings and shunts are provided at intersections to selectively redirect the paper to permit single sided or double sided printing, printing in different colors or re-supplying the paper to a printing unit for a second pass. Papers can be turned over by selective control of the shunts and the conveying directions in the paper paths. Spacing of the sheets if controlled and pre-printed sheets may be selectively brought in to the paper flow.

  • Patent number: 6499733
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of feeding a sheetlike material (50-54) into a printer. An externally located cover sheet (50-54) is removed from a pile of sheets and conveyed towards a section (a10-a12) of the transport path at a transport speed (V0, V1). The lower limit (v0) of the transport speed is the same as or greater than the transport speed (v0) of the sheets (50-54) in section (a1-a12). Conveyance of the sheet (52,54) is delayed until section (a10-a12) has been reached. Identical predetermined spacing (AS) thus occurs between immediately successive transported sheets (52,54).

  • Patent number: 6260844
Abstract: A device for conveying sheet-like material between a driven roller and a counter-pressure roller is disclosed. The device also includes opposing guide plates that form a channel for feeding the sheet-like material to the nip between the two rollers. At least one of the rollers includes a channel-like recess into which its associated guide plate extends.

  • Patent number: 6259884
Abstract: A method and apparatus for printing individual sheets gathers the sheets in groups and feeds the sheets past a printer unit. Paper paths are provided in two ring shapes and two printers are provided to permit printing on one side in one color, both sides in one color, one side in two colors and two sides in two colors or one color on one side and two colors on the other side.

  • Patent number: 6241239
Abstract: A method and device for output of single sheets from a printer employs a driven first roller pair having a conveying nip in which a respective single sheet is transported and deflected from an approximately vertically proceeding conveying path into an approximately horizontal conveying path. A separation element that suppresses a continued conveying of the respective single sheet on a circumferential surface of a lower roller of the roller pair is arranged in a proximity of the circumferential surface of the lower roller. An edge sensor is arranged preceding the roller as viewed in a conveying direction for determining whether single sheets have pushed on top of one another. A discharge brush electrically discharges one side of the single sheet arranged in the conveying path following the roller pair. A deflection device deflects the single sheet emerging from the conveying nip into a substantially horizontal attitude shortly before the conveying nip as viewed in a direction of the conveying path.

  • Patent number: 6179281
Abstract: In order to control the ejection of sheets from input compartments in a paper output device belonging to a printing or photocopying system, verification occurs as to whether a previously processed sheet has been removed as soon as it has been established that at least one input compartment is almost empty. Ejection of the sheet immediately following according to the order of processing occurs thereafter. These steps are repeated until the input compartment is empty. The printing operation is then stopped.

  • Patent number: 4667863
Abstract: A pair of transport rollers for transporting therebetween a tape or sheet material, such as film, for example in a wet processing device, in which one roller is cylindrical and another roller includes two outwardly converging conical end portions and a cylindrical intermediate portion, whereby two or more films can be transported by the roller pair simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4363548
Abstract: An arrangement for introducing a band light-sensitive material in daylight from cassettes into a developing device has a receiving part located on a developing device and light-tightly receiving a guide part of cassettes, at least one separating element subdividing the interior of the receiving part into at least two compartments so that a wide cassette can be received into the receiving part in the absence of the separating element or one or two narrow cassettes can be received into one or two compartments of the subdivided receiving part, and a closing element provided in each of the compartments and independently acting for light-tightly closing the respective one of the compartments.
