  • Patent number: 8833761
Abstract: A method for monitoring transport of bank notes in a transport system, using sensors arranged along the transport system for sensing transported bank notes, and a control device for monitoring and controlling the transport system using signals from the sensors, from which the control device derives a presence or absence of a bank note at the location of the respective sensor. The signals from all sensors are stored in a memory, and the signals from all sensors are assigned an explicit time statement or clock statement. All transported bank notes are assigned an explicit object code by the control device, and the object code is linked to the explicit time statement or clock statement. Stored signals from the sensors derive the occurrence and type of errors during the transport of the bank notes, and the signals are linked to the bank notes denoted by the object codes.

  • Patent number: 8434627
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing value documents where the value documents are checked according to certain criteria and sorted in accordance with the results of the check. Those value documents upon whose check an error has occurred are transported to a deposit device having several deposit sections. The faulty value documents of different accounting units are thereby deposited on different deposit sections of the deposit device. For post-processing of the faulty value documents, they are removed from the deposit device by an operator according to the first in, first out principle.

  • Patent number: 8172131
Abstract: A method is provided for handling cassettes for bank notes, for automatic tellers and/or deposit devices. The method for handling cassettes for bank notes, for automatic tellers and/or deposit devices, includes the step of determining the filling level of the cassette or cassettes, comparing the determined filling level of each cassette with at least one threshold value lower than a maximum capacity of the particular cassette, and wherein, if the comparison yields an excess, the step of producing a signal indicating the exceeding of the threshold value, causing replacement of the cassette for which the signal indicating the exceeding of the threshold value was produced.

  • Patent number: 8157102
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing sheet material, in particular papers of value such as bank notes, checks, etc. The present invention starts out from the consideration that the validity of a successful check of sheet material is still present unchanged after an operating disturbance. The result of a check of sheet material which was performed successfully before a disturbance is therefore retained when a disturbance is present or after the disturbance has been eliminated.

  • Patent number: 8002210
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for canceling, in particular destroying, sheet material, in particular bank notes. The apparatus includes at least one canceling means to which the sheet material to be canceled is fed, in which the fed sheet material is canceled, in particular destroyed, and from which the canceled sheet material is discharged. The apparatus also includes at least one supervising means for monitoring the sheet material being discharged or having been discharged from said canceling means. For improved monitoring of the cancellation of sheet material, in particular with respect to malfunctions, there is provided at least one monitoring means for monitoring the fed sheet material. The fed sheet material is compared to the sheet material being discharged or having been discharged in an evaluation means.

  • Patent number: 7953237
Abstract: In a hearing aid device system with a hearing aid device which can be worn on or in the left ear of a user and a hearing aid device which can be worn on or in the right ear of the user for the binaural supply of the user, the aim is to reduce feedback tendency. To this end, it is proposed to transmit audio signals resulting from the microphone signals of the hearing aid devices in a crosswise fashion between the hearing aid devices and thus to emit an acoustic signal recorded by the microphone of a hearing aid device, after the signal processing and amplification, by means of the receiver of the respective other hearing aid device. In this way, the distance between each receiver and microphone, between which a feedback path exists, is essentially increased for the relevant audio signals.

  • Publication number: 20100150385
Abstract: Feedback should be prevented effectively in a hearing aid which can be worn in the ear. To this end, the arrangement of two microphones, electrically interconnected to form a directional microphone, and a receiver is proposed along a straight line. The directional effect of the directional microphone is set such that, when viewed from the directional microphone, the receiver is arranged in the direction of the lowest sensitivity of the directional microphone. This can effectively suppress feedback even though the hearing aid has a relatively simple design.

  • Patent number: 7474758
Abstract: Directional hearing is improved given the binaural coverage for a hearing aid user with two hearing aid devices wearable at the ears. The respective signal transit times and/or signal amplitudes and/or amplifications of an electrical signal are respectively measured in a signal path between an input transducer and an output transducer and that data with respect to the measured signal transit times and/or signal amplitudes and/or gains is transmitted onto the respectively other hearing aid device. As a result, the signal transit times and the signal amplitudes of the electrical signals through the two hearing aid devices can be matched to one another. The hearing aid devices thus cause no phase or amplitude distortion, and the natural phase shift as well as the natural amplitude difference of a sound signal incident from a specific direction are thus preserved. The directional information is thus also preserved for the hearing aid user.
