    Abstract: In a process for producing a shaft bearing-bearing housing assembly wherein the shaft bearing has an outer race firmly engaged in the bearing housing, a shaft bearing with a slightly conical outer surface is fitted into a slightly conical receiving bore formed in the bearing housing at an elevated temperature which is higher than the normal operating temperature of the bearing housing and the bearing housing is then permitted to cool down thereby providing for firm engagement of the shaft bearing outer race in the bearing housing.
