  • Patent number: 4752145
Abstract: The device for paper guidance in printing facilities comprising a paper tractor that transports continuous form paper comprises a plurality of paper guide elements displaceably arranged on a transport shaft dependent on the width of the paper. Compression springs that are supported on the paper guide elements are arranged between the paper guide elements. The hollow-cylindrically fashioned paper guide elements are interrupted in denticular fashion at their surface areas, whereby the respectively neighboring toothings of the paper guide elements displaceably mesh via their teeth in order to thus form a variable-width paper guide cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4184107
Abstract: An apparatus to produce accurately limited angular or pivotal movements of a shaft of a DC motor with a control circuit to supply appropriate signals to control the operation thereof. Position indicators are provided to detect the shaft position and a second indicator is located to detect a rearward pivot position. Means are provided to establish a direction signal to indicate direction of rotation of the shaft, and the direction signal means and the position indicators produce outputs which are connected to the control circuit. The DC motor has a motor drive which receives signals from the control circuit during movement of the motor between forward and rearward pivot positions. The control circuit produces, first, an acceleration current and then a deceleration and finally a correction current with the current dropping to "zero" when the desired angular position has been reached by the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4173301
Abstract: A pneumatic brake device for use in electrostatic copier devices to impart a drag to paper moving through the device. The brake device includes a housing having a perforated suction surface functioning as a brake surface. In order to reduce suction loss when only a portion of the brake surface is covered by the paper sheet, various means are disclosed for limiting or preventing airflow through portions of the brake surface not covered by the paper.

  • Patent number: 4163893
Abstract: A toner fixing station in an electrostatic copier includes a heated fixing drum and an opposed pressure cylinder. A preheat arrangement is provided for the pressure cylinder to bring the pressure cylinder up to an operating temperature prior to biasing it into opposition to the fixing drum.
