Abstract: A portable sweeping device which operates with an air-blast flow, and comprises a housing having a handle arranged at the upper end, and a fanwheel blower or impeller arranged in the housing and driven by an internal combustion engine arranged in the direction of the axis of rotation of the blower; the blower generates an air flow which exits through an air discharge outlet of the housing. The axis of rotation of the fanwheel blower is arranged at least substantially vertically during use.

Abstract: Apparatus for trimming plants, which apparatus includes at least one handle and a rotating, powered trimming head, which trimming head includes at least one flexible, filament-type trimming element, especially a synthetic or plastic filament or thread end-section, extending beyond the periphery of the housing for the trimming head, which trimming element is wound on a spool provided in the housing. The end-section can be adjusted by a predetermined amount during operation of the apparatus by the intervention of a coupling element whereby the spool is rotated relative to the housing through a predetermined angle, with the coupling element being movable from a lock position to a release position by means of centrifugal forces.

Abstract: A hood for a rotary tool, such as a grinding wheel on a saw or the like, in which the hood is rotatable about the axis of the tool and is spring clamped in adjusted rotary positions. A lever pivoted to the hood has a neutral position in which the clamp is effective for clamping the hood while the lever is moveable in either direction from the neutral position thereof for unclamping the hood while simultaneously adjusting the hood in the same direction.
