  • Patent number: 11931103
Abstract: A method for examining a driver of a vehicle. In accordance with the method, at least one part of at least one eye and/or at least one part of the face of the driver is captured using a monitoring unit. The data captured by the monitoring unit is evaluated and the visual perception capability of the driver is examined based on the captured data. The method may further include identifying the driver and operating devices of the vehicle using the captured data.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 19, 2024
    Assignee: Heidelberg Engineering GmbH

  • Patent number: 7971999
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an appliance for examination of the retina, with two-dimensional images of the retina being produced. The invention is based on the object of designing the method and the apparatus so as to allow comprehensive examination and diagnosis of the eye retina in a simple manner. The invention proposes that second data items and two-dimensional depth slice images be produced from the retina, and that the position of these second data items be known in the recorded two-dimensional image of the retina, and/or be predetermined on the basis of the two-dimensional image.

  • Patent number: 5620000
Abstract: A method for measuring the flow rate of a liquid, particularly of blood, in which the frequency shift of a laser beam reflected from the liquid is determined according to the optical Doppler effect. This method and the apparatus provided for its implementation are designed so as to enable reliable measurement of the flow rate of the flowing medium which is resolved both spatially and with respect to time. In accordance with the invention at each scanning point a number of N measured values is collected corresponding to the reflected light, N being a whole number equal to or larger than 2; the Doppler shift is calculated from the time variation of the thus measured intensity of the reflected light at the respective scanning points, and the flow rate is determined from the Doppler shift at each point of the scanning pattern.

  • Patent number: 5170276
Abstract: An apparatus for imaging an object, particularly a three-dimensional object, (20) including a first and a second scanner (1, 2), each having a mirror (3, 4) in order to scan the object in two directions, especially orthogonal directions. The apparatus has a compact construction while still assuring optically perfect scanning in that the mirror (3) of the first scanner (1) is disposed a distance (7) from the axis of rotation of the first scanner, and the center or the pivot point of the second scanner (2) is disposed midway between the axis of rotation and the mirror (3) of the first scanner (1).
